Halloween {2013}

Went went to the Maclaskey's house as traditional would have it again for Halloween this year.  Since Mommy was only 2 days post op, Abby and Linda took all the kiddos trick-or-treating.  Katelyn of course stayed with Mommy.  We tried something different and went trick-or-treating before we fed them supper and they did amazingly well.  There were no meltdowns or fits.  Daddy had to work late so he wasn't with us but we made sure to stop by his construction site and trick or treat him too!

The big kids are getting old enough that taking this whole rowdy group for a stroll around the cul-de-sac is seeming less daunting.  Hardly anyone wants to be carried yet they are walking well enough that they aren't falling constantly even in costumes.  Oh how we love holidays and our friends!

Laproscopic Cholysesectomy

I had my gallbladder out this a.m.  Thanks for all the prayers.  I can't nurse Katelyn for at least 24-36 hours due to the anesthesia and I am not supposed to be lifting anything over 15 pounds for 2 weeks, this includes Gavin.  Everything went well, just a bit nauseous but it's gonna be a long 2 weeks!

Happy Monday

I had my allergy testing today and Aunt Kate met us at the allergist for some baby snuggles and to keep Katelyn happy while they did it.  They identified all the environmental triggers I already knew I had but nothing causing anaphylaxsis.  For now, we are still  considering prednisone as the culprit.

The boys are back in daycare this week since I have surgery tomorrow and I actually think they are enjoying it!  I am so excited for fall weather and halloween...my little monsnters are gonna be so cute!

Love Bug

Logan was being silly tonight and insisted I take some pictures of him loving on and playing with his baby sister...silly boy!

Friday Night {10-25-13]

Tonight the boys went to Nana's for some spolin' time.  Katelyn and I enjoyed some skin to skin time on the couch which is very rare!  Then we headed to Kirbie's for an adult costume party.

Now, before you judge...it is not often that we go to any kind of party.  This one I couldn't resist!  We dressed up as Phil and Kay from Duck Dynasty.  The funny thing, almost the whole Duck Dynasty family was there with the exception of Willie and Jase.  What a fun evening.

We are missing our little men though and can't wait to see them in the morning!

Katelyn {6 Weeks}

This little girl is really starting to get a personality!  Her facial expressions remind me so much of Logan.  Katelyn is starting to coo and she smiles purposefully at us now.    We love to see who can make her smile the quickest although Mommy usually wins!

Snuggle Bunnies

I spent some time snuggling on the couch with these two sleepy babes tonight...heaven!

Behavior Modeling

The boys have really been interested in my pumping for and nursing Katelyn.  Completely without prompting, they both decided to do some behavior modeling and nurse their own babies this a.m.  What a complete crack-up!

Harper Boy Baby Shower

Today, I helped host a baby shower for my dear friend from childhood, Rachel.  I am so excited for her as this is her first baby and she is due on Christmas.  Mine and Rachel's moms are best friends and we spent endless hours together as children,  We have remained good friends even after high school although she lives in Colorado and we don't see each other often.

She and her husband Ross are going to be such fantastic parents to this lucky little man.  Congrats Rachel!  We had a blast throwing this shower for you.

Lazy, Crazy Saturday

Daddy was home with us today which is rare for a Saturday as he is usually running around trying to get stuff done!  We had great time, eating donuts and just hanging out, being silly.  These boys sure do know how to make us all smile!

Katelyn {1 Month Check-Up}

Katelyn's 1 Month Check-Up was today.  Here are her stats:

Weight: 8 pounds 7 oz, 20th percentile
Length: 20 1/4 inches, 10th percentile
Head: 14 7/8inches, 50th percentile

Developmentally you are right on track.  However, you have been having some abnormal movements of your hands and feet and we will go see the neurologist November 7th just to make sure it is nothing serious!

Fall Fun

We spent the day at home today enjoying the gorgeous fall weather.  The boys had hot chocolate this a.m. and it was a definite hit!  We went to the library and checked out some fun fall books.  We also went on a nature walk and collected leaves and nuts that Logan and I did a fun craft project with.  Katelyn was very sleepy today!  We love fall!!!

Auntie Visit

Aunt Kate and Tyler came over to help entertain the boys tonight while Daddy worked late.  We had a good time outside swinging and then cuddled sister on the couch.  We love our Aunt Kate!

Haven Fall Festival

We went to Steve's hometown to see Nena and Papa and experience their fall festival today.  The kids had a great time.  They won the awesome wagon in the above pic in a door prize drawing.

As of yesterday, Katelyn is off the nipple shield and she did great nursing in public today.  I was a bit apprehensive about how we would do with latching under the cover.

Katelyn {1 Month}

One of our good friends sent us these adorable onesie stickers.  What a cute idea!

Katelyn, at one month you:
1.  Have almost conquered breastfeeding!  We are off the shield, nursing 8-12 times a day with minimal pain and good wt. gain!
2.  Are such a good baby...while you love to be held, you are sleeping in your own bed for the most part at night and only cry when you are hungry/gassy/poopy/tired.
3.  Are sleeping 9:30-2:30 at night, get up to eat then back to bed til 5:30-6ish.
