Laundry Day

Mom has discovered a new way to carry me around the house.

Big News...

Did you hear the news?

You'll never guess what little man did last night. I'll give you a hint...the days of leaving him on the couch or the changing table are over. While we were sitting in front of the TV Logan was playing happily on the floor.

Steve made the remark that he was going to be rolling over soon. The next thing I knew, I looked down and Logan rolled from his tummy to his back without any hesitation. Of course I was thinking to myself that my husband had probably already seen him do this and was just being nice to me so that I didn't feel I had missed one of his "firsts".

Truth be told Steve had NOT seen him roll over. So, how cool is that? We both happened to be home and sitting there watching him at this all important moment. I can't believe how fast he is growing. It seems like just yesterday I brought his little six pound, jaundiced and sleepy self home. I am so excited to watch him grow but will miss the days of his newborn period.

But, life goes on. He is already so much fun as he is learning to giggle and talk to us. That's all the big news for today!

Two Month Check-up

It's been a long, hard day.

Logan had his two month check-up today. Of course that meant he got all of his shots. He was an absolute trooper. I think he cried more because we were holding him down than he did because of the shots. But then he had tummy troubles when we got home and when he woke up he screamed for almost an hour...very unlike him. Luckily, everything resolved this evening and now he is resting peacefully.

So, the new stats...drum roll please...he weighs ten pounds and fifteen ounces. He is 22 1/2 inches long. That puts him 25th percentile on weight and length. His head is still 50th percentile.

It's gonna be a busy week. We will try to keep the blog updated but I make NO promises with all the activity. Hopefully once we get the play out of the way this weekend than things will calm down some. We are taking family pics on Friday and Logan and I are going to attempt the mall tomorrow to find somewhat matching outfits for everyone. I hope he is in a good mood!

Hanging With Dad

Thank goodness for a few days off! The pics above were taken by Steve Monday night when Logan was in a great mood. I wish I could report the same for Tuesday evening but I can't. It's difficult to figure out when I should pump for the last time at work and for Steve to figure out when to feed Logan. Tuesday night I came home to a starving child and a very exhausted daddy.

Now that I know Logan isn't going to have a problem bottle feeding for 12 hrs then switching back to the breast, hopefully things will get easier. The whole getting up at 5 a.m. in order to mobilize the entire household by 6 a.m. went surprisingly smooth. This is probably due in part to the fact that Steve is now leaving the house the same time that we are. They pushed his hours back at work so he is a huge help in the morning.

I hope to take some new pictures this evening. I am helping with the high school play which is keeping me very busy as the production is next weekend. So today we spent the day with Aunt DD making prop signs and getting the last of the kids' costumes together. I think they are going to put on a great show and can't wait to see the finished product!

Christopher started basketball this week so he has been busy after school with practices. Steve is trying to finish up his latest guitar masterpiece so he will be busy as well! It's that time of year that everything gets crazy and you can barely catch your breath. Business is booming at work so as soon as we get into the swing of things I'm sure I will be picking up extra hours. With the holidays just around the corner time is flying by!

Alive

I survived the first few days back at work. Logan did fine as well...although I knew he would. That's about all I can say for tonight because I'm too exhausted. More details to come tomorrow with some adorable pics Steve captured in the last two days.

Simple Sunday

Today is my last official day of maternity leave. We spent the day doing only ordinary things. We took a nice nap together this morning. We went to lunch at Papa and Nana's house and played cards with Uncle AJ and Kristen. Nana accompanied us for a nice walk this afternoon and now I am just finishing up cleaning the house. It's probably the last time it will be done for awhile.

I have mixed feelings about going back to work tomorrow. I love to be mentally stimulated and challenged so from that aspect it will be nice to be back to work and have something useful to concentrate on aside from how to fit one more bottle in the drying rack, what to fix for supper and calculating how many diapers we go through in a week.

On the other hand, I'm going to miss my baby. I know that in reality everyone has to work. But this has been a very nice break for me, by far the longest I've ever gone without working. I hope that I can figure out some sort of routine for our family in order to maintain everyone's sanity. We are going to need to be up by at least 5:00a.m. to have Logan to the sitters in Benton at 6:15 and Christopher up, dressed and to Nana's before we leave town. Logan will be going to a home daycare and is the only baby there so will get tons of attention. It is helpful to know that he is in such capable hands and I don't have to worry about him.

I am a bit worried how breastfeeding will go after I am back to work. I hope that since we have worked so hard at it that nothing will change. I will pump and he will bottlefeed when I'm gone and he will be all mine at feeding times when I am home.

All things considered I doubt I will update or even have time to take pictures before Weds. Lord knows I'll have plenty to share by then!
