37 Weeks

I apologize that there aren't any pics today...its been a rough couple of days at our house. I am happy to report that I went to the doctor yesterday and everything looked great. My blood pressure is at an all time low 96/60 and baby measured 5 pounds 8 oz by sono. The abdominal measurement they were concerned about 3 weeks ago is well within normal limits. We are now full term! If you had asked me six weeks ago I would have told you there was no way we would make it! I get to go back to work tomorrow which is super exciting. I am down to about 2 weeks of paid leave left after 6 weeks of bedrest. This is a huge stress for us and Steve and I still aren't in full agreeance on the solution. I'm praying for a clear answer.

I havent slept more than 3 hours a night in the past three days. I have a difficult time getting to sleep and I can't even blame it on the baby! It has been really difficult to breathe despite Benadryl and all the usualy remedies. I do finally get to sleep but I think Logan is fighting the same sinus infection. He has been waking up at least 2-3 times per night screaming. He goes right back to sleep(in a puddle of snot) as soon as I sit down by his bed...I on the other hand cannot! I am however, very thankful for the cooler weather.

Logan has also been acting out, hitting, screaming and throwing fits. All of this is normal for his age, I know. It is just raring it's ugly head at the point and time that I am most exhausted and have the least amount of patience. I can't imagine what it must be like to be two. Thank goodness I won't ever actually be two again myself!

I am going to try and work Friday and Saturday. Maybe we will get some new pics to post in that time too!

No Words...

There are certain people that you meet in this world that come into your heart for moment...and stay there forever. These people that you don't get to see often, but think of almost daily. Today was like Christmas at our house do to three of these special people.

There was a thud at the door. I said aloud, "What did someone just throw on the porch?" Steve got up to check and brought in a package. I smiled as I read who it was from....I won't say any names because I don't want to embarass anyone. I was thinking, "Oh I bet it's a birthday present for Logan!" As Steve opened the box and Logan squealed with excitement I was still completely unprepared for what was inside.

There were presents for Logan...a special book about little and big brothers, Thomas books, Cars coloring books and markers and Thomas puzzles. There were presents for Gavin: diapers, pictures frame, shoes, clothes galore, hooded towel and washcloths, toys and a special little star mommy can sing to and record so daddy can play it for him when I can't be here. Then there was a card...that also held a good amount of cash.

As I immediately started crying, I'm pretty sure my husband didn't know what to think. I literally had no words(I know, you're thinking for real?). I was just saying last night that it is so incredibly heartwarming how others have provided for us in this difficult time. It's one thing to pull gift after gift out of a box for your children...knowing that someone that is so similar to ourselves worked very hard for the money to buy them. Holding the cold, hard cash in my hand brought on a completely different emotion.

So, I have been crying for an hour now trying to figure out what it is I did for these people that would even begin to compare to what they have done for us. All I know is that the phone call I made to thank them doesn't even begin to do them justice...partly because I was crying still the whole time and partly because you just can't hug someone through the phone!

I am so thankful to be blessed with all the special people in our lives. I am so thankful for the genorousity that everyone has bestowed upon us in this difficult time period. God has a way of knocking us on our butts and making us very, VERY humble sometimes!

Birthday Fun

Logan actually blew out his own candles!

WoW! Logan has been a very spoiled little boy over the past couple of days. Since his birthday was actually Thursday but the party wasn't until Sunday it and with so much family to celebrate with it was more like a week of birthdays! He got so many nice gifts, too many to name! I despise cupcakes so we had Lightening Mcqueen and Thomas the Train cakes. With this being a difficult year for us financially it is so wonderful to know that Logan didn't miss a beat. Of course at his age he probably would have been happy with a bucket of dirt!

Mommy is exhausted after all the partying. Funny thing is, as tired as I was I couldn't fall asleep last night. I think it was well past 1:30 a.m. before I finally got any rest. I think our bun in the oven must be getting restless too!

Happy 2nd Birthday Logan!

It's difficult to believe two years have flown by since we were blessed with this smiley little man! We are actually having Logan's party this weekend but he woke up early this a.m. to celebrate with Mommy.

At two, Logan walks, runs, jumps, crawls, has stairs of all sizes mastered. He repeats anything and EVERYTHING he hears(not always a good thing). He eats best when he can carry his food with him and his favorites change from day to day. He sleeps 9.pm. to 6 a.m.(yay Logan, this is a new development) and takes a 1 1/2 hour nap each afternoon.

His latest obsessions are Cars and Thomas the train but loves anything he can do outside. Today we are 36 weeks pregnant and mommy is hoping maybe the baby wants to have the same birthday as his big brother. Sono and appt this afternoon so we will report later!

Hooray For Fall!

It has been outrageously, recordbreaking hot this summer! I think things are finally starting to cool off. The forcast is for 80s all week and we are soooooo happy about it. Today we went to the park for awhile to soak up the cooler temps.

I have a sono and appt on Thursday. Thursday is also the birthday of someone very special in this house. We are actually having his party on Sunday. Logan is so excited about his birthday party and cake!

Mommy's New Obsession

So I have been trying to stay still but still stay busy while I have been home on bedrest and have a newfound obsession. It's called Butler County Kiddie Swap. It's kinda like Craigslist but better. All the people that look at it are right here in Butler County. So I can take a pic a post something and even if it's only for $1 they will swing by and pick it up. That is the other nice thing about it, they have to come GET the crap themselves!

You wouldn't think I'd have much to sell with another baby coming. But since they are both in the same season(I'm shooting for the same month!), all the clothes I accumulated that are most definitely the wrong season, have been sold. The girly things I indulged in and bought prior to finding out we were having another little boy...gone! Even my old high school prom dresses left the house this a.m. Don't kid yourself, I'm not making a ton of money. But I am clearing space while laying around with my computer and actually following my bedrest orders. I have decided the proceeds are going to buy the boys some really cute, if possible matching Halloween costumes for this year. Now, I just have to find them...online of course!

35 Weeks and counting for Baby #2!

This child appears to have Steve's webbed and twinned second and third toes. Thank goodness none of our children have my mutant foot digits!

Just in case you were wondering, there is no mistake...it's still a boy.

Well we have made it to 35 weeks....4 weeks ago I never thought we'd make it this far! Had another BPP yesterday to make sure baby was doing fine. They will not take measurements again until 37 weeks and I hope to be delivering by that point!

I made Steve string up my black background in the back yard the other night and Abby came to take some pictures. Logan was anything but cooperative. He didn't want to touch or kiss the baby but we still got some cute pics. It must be so tough being a toddler some days!

I've gone crazy, did the nesting and preparing but from the way my house looks it could already use it again! Prayers please for a friend of mine who is due about a month after me. She just found out that a heart defect they had questioned early on in pregnancy then seemed to disappear has reappeared quite obviously. Not sure yet what treatment or prognosis is as she has a fetal cardiac echo and meeting with a specialist on Tuesday. How tough. Makes us very thankful for our healthy baby.
