Little Lovies

The kids and I spent the weekend at home so that Daddy could go get some work done a deck project while the weather was nice.  Steve still wasn't feeling well on Friday, a week out from the flu and was started on antibiotics for pneumonia.  Come on winter...give us a little break!

This afternoon my little helpers assisted with laundry and also cooking some food for a funeral of a close family friend...then we celebrated their good behavior by going to a bday party at the YMCA and ended the afternoon riding horses when we delivered the food to Linda's.  These little lovies are so sweet when they want to be.

All Smiles

Both the boys are on antibiotics and feeling much better...Sissy of course was all smiles too.  All of them were happy just in time to see Uncle AJ off tonight.

My Bubba

This picture was taken right after Gav's 3hr screaming fit...thank goodness AJ and Alli were there to help with the other kids in the midst of his pain.  I would have been completely overwhelmed.  I sure miss this kid and hate how far away he is in the Airforce.  I am so proud of him though!

Here for a Visit

Uncle AJ is on town for a quick visit!  We started the a.m. out by taking Logan into the doctor.  His cough/congestion has moved into his lungs and he has double pneumonia.  He is tolerating it all really well though, starting on antibiotics today.  Flu swabs were negative, praise Jesus!  So since I knew he wasn't going to infect everyone with flu we took AJ to surprise Grandma and Grandpa.  Lisa went with us.  We visited and had lunch, played on the tractor and with Legos.  It was a nice visit.

When we got back into town we ran to Dillons to grab a few things.  While I was inside Gav was napping in the truck with Lisa.  He woke from his nap screaming and saying his ears hurt, continued to scream for 3 hrs.  Called the doctor...they couldn't get him in but called out antibiotics and numbing drops for his ears, we will go in tomorrow a.m. to see the doctor.  I am sick of the doctor this week!

Winter had hit the Taylor household...

Well the boys and Mommy are all coughing and snotty...today Daddy tested positive for Influenza A.  He is the only one aside from baby Kate that didn't get a flu vaccine this year(I bet I won't have to fight him next year!).  Scary stuff.  Daddy feels crummy, boys are whiny, Kate is still fussy from shots and Mommy is just trying to hold it together.  I can't wait til Spring!

It's Friday

Last night Mommy came home from work not feeling great, coughing with no voice.  Gavin and Daddy did not sleep well and got up at 3:45 and moved to the couch together.  Today, the boys went to Daycare and Kate and Mommy stayed home so we could go to Kate's 4 month checkup.
Baby girl was in such a sweet mood...then I had to take her to get shots.  She had no reaction with her 2 month vaccines but was febrile and extremely fussy with this set.  We danced around the living room for 2 hrs in the afternoon with her screaming(very unlike my baby girl).  Thank goodness we don't have to do this often!

Katelyn {4 Months}

At 4 Months:
1.  You are still nursing like a champ and have never had anything but breast milk.
2.  Sleeping has become a little dicey since Mommy is back to work because you prefer to nurse all night.  Don't tell Mommy's medical profession friends but we are doing quite a bit of co-sleeping, as safely as possible of course.
3. Weigh 12 lbs 12oz(30th percentil)
4. Are 23 3/4 inches long(30th percentile)
5. Head measures 16 1/4 inches(55th percentile)
6. You smile, laugh and roll over(but only from back to tummy, doctor said we have to work on this0
7.  You are already trying to sit up by yourself!
8. Still love to watch your crazy brothers and no one makes you giggle like they do.

Surprise!

No pics tonight but had to document something so I didn't forget when it occurred!  We were sitting in the living room floor playing about 7:45, getting ready for bed and Daddy walked through the door.  It was such a surprise since we weren't expecting him home.  About 20min later, Kate rolled over for the very first time.  She proceeded to do it again before bed.  Oddly enough, the little stinker is rolling from back to belly but won't roll from belly to back.  It seems even more strange because she HATES tummy time, so even when she gets rolled onto her tummy she immediately starts throwing a fit.  Silly girl...

Best Laid Plans

So I have been trying to be very diligent about showing my children love, practicing my patience without Daddy here to buffer me and most of all not to care that the house is complete wreck so  my children know, just what is important.  My plan was today to send them to daycare on my one day off, go grocery shopping, clean the house, take a shower for the first time in 4 days, maybe take a nap then pick them up refreshed and ready to face the challenges.

After being at daycare only 2 hrs, my phone rang.  Logan was puking.  Poor kid!  I really thought that since he had strep and wasn't at daycare last week when they were all sick that he was gonna dodge that illness.  WRONG.  Praise Jesus for small miracles though, I did actually get my shower in before the phone rang.  Off I went to get them.

Let me paint the scene for you upon our arrival back at home.  I am holding a fussy, teething 4 month old...cleaning up the 4 year olds puke and trying to keep the 2 yr old out of the puke while I get it all cleaned.  Come on Lord...I know you won't give me more than I can handle but this one is cutting it close!

While Daddy's Away...

With Daddy gone in Junction City again this week, Nana stopped by this evening to help us pass some time.  These lovable little men are so adorable with their sister.  Daddy must have taught them how to treat the little ladies.

Henderson Family Visit

Bonnie, Joey & the kids are back in the states for a visit.  We had planned to spend quite a bit of time with them while they were here but a family emergency took up much of their leave.  The kids(mine included) were in rare form today so this was the best shot at a group picture.  I love this girl and miss her bunches!

New Years Day 2014

Gavin didn't puke again after our middle of the night fiasco and acted just fine this a.m.  So we left Logan with Lisa and Papa and headed to Haven for Grandma Jean's family get together.  Mommy can't ever remember everyone's name only seeing them once a year and it seems like I am always forgiven for that!

Gavin had fun running back an forth across the community building.  The ladies white elephant gift exchange was once again a highlight.  Mommy actually got the last number and stole a casserole dish carrier/insulator only to have it stolen by #1 and getting stuck with another crock pot.  The crock pot has become the gag gift.  I am tucking it safely away on the shelf and bring it back next year!
