Windy Zoo Day

It was a VERY windy Kansas day today! For those of you that don't really know what "windy" means to us, it was gusting up to 45+ miles per hour. How joyful! Ok, so not really but it didn't stop us from having a great day. We went to the zoo and tried to stick to the inside exhibits. The children were very well behaved and no one even had a melt down. We met a friend of Abby's there who had three kids and she couldn't believe how well behaved our toddlers were or that the mommies actually sat down and ate lunch WITH the kids. It always feels really neat to get those comments especially when you feel like all you ever do is tell your toddler they are in trouble for something.

We are so excited for tomorrow. We are going to garage sales in the morning. In the afternoon we get to help celebrate one special little girl and her one year Bday!

Love-y

Logan is really starting to figure out this whole "Mommy is gonna have a baby" thing. He is so sweet. He wants to love and kiss on the baby. His favorite thing to do is stick is finger in my belly button. He says "I touch baby!" It's so adorable.

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter! Late Saturday night work called asking if I could come in...they were soooo busy. I was already driving over to sing at the perinatal bereavement service so I figured I could work a few hours in. Papa played guitar for me while I sang and it was really special to help these families remember their babies on Easter. I think it was the first time ever the service fell on Easter Sunday. Logan spent the day with Nana and Aunt Kate. They went to church, then he got to dye eggs! How fun. I was sorry to have missed it but I know my presence was needed elsewhere.

We had dinner with Nana's side of the family. I think we ate EVERYTHING! Between 20 people(including two pregnant girls) we cleaned up very well. We also celebrated Christophers birthday. I can't believe he's fourteen...it seems like yesterday he was 7! Last Logan and Sofia hunted eggs. It was cold but they had such a good time. We are very blessed. Hope you all had a blessed Easter as well.

16 1/2 weeks

Here ya go Auntie Kristen...my belt keeps my belly from looking as big. Gotta love that!

A Day With Friends

Walt was putting in new bathroom floor at the Maclaskeys so Abby, Gray and Payton decided just to hang with us for the rest of the evening. We ate dinner, went for a walk, blew bubbles, watched Elmo, sang silly songs and took a bath! It's only 8:30 and Logan has already put himself to bed tonight. What a great, tiring day full of friends!

Easter Fun

Today we had some early Easter fun with the kids! Abby was nice enough to invite us to the Hospital Egg Hunt but Logan didn't quite know what to do. He caught on fast though and we had a great time! This afternoon we went to Nana's church Easter carnival. We colored pictures, made crafts, hunted more eggs and did bubbles. What fun!

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

Somedays it's the little things in life,
like sitting on a tractor...

scooping some fresh dirt...

riding your favorite 'cycle'....

and finding lots of new things to explore...

...that keeps a mommy sane! We are so thankful for spring!

Oh What a Night

We love Elmo! Good thing he has lots of educational DVDs. Is it bad that Logan is actually getting somewhat good at his breathing treatments?
These pics are from tonight...thank goodness Logan was a in a good mood. I had zero energy and don't know how I would have made it through if I had had to fight him! Last night was a real dooozy. Logan went to bed like normal. Then about 11:15 my tummy woke me up. Then, I went into a full-blown allergy attack..probably one of the worst ever. Good thing I was already sitting in the bathroom because everytime I sneezed I thought I would pee my pants!

Then, came the wheezing. Thank goodness my inhaler was within reach. By the time I had settled down enough(5omg of benadryl later and about 10 puffs on the ole inhaler) it was after 1:00a.m. I had just laid down when Logan started coughing. Bless his heart! We had not given him a breathing treatment last night before bed because he seemed to be doing fine. Let's just say that I did NOT skip it tonight! We were up until about 2:30 until he finally got it all out of his system and fell back asleep. As miserable as I was I know he was hanging right in there with me.

I am hoping for a good nights sleep for us both tonight. We have been transitioning Logan to falling asleep in his bed instead of downstairs with us or rocking. Tonight it took about 15 min and this was without a cup since he sucked down his milk like it was going out of fashion. His crib is on the lowest level so even without being pregnant it was difficult for me to put him to bed when he was asleep. My short little legs were off the floor when I leaned over! Now there is no way I can do it as it hits me right on the baby bump! I am hoping by making this a nice little one on one time with him it will seem more like a good time. We start by letting him have his cup and then he gives it to me when he is done. I sit on the floor next to the bed with only one hand touching him and repeatedly tell him, "Lay down, goodnight." It doesn't take him long to figure out I am not going to pick him up. I am so happy that daycare has always made him lay himself down. It certainly makes this much easier! To top it off, of the 3 nights I have put him to bed like this he has always slept through the night. Yay! I think we're on to something.

Movement From Below

Just a quick post...today for the first time we felt the baby move! I thought I felt it at work. When I got home and was in the middle of bathing Logan I felt it again. I made Steve come feel too, just to make sure I wasn't crazy. Sure as day there was a tap, tap, tap on my belly! It must have been a foot. So not terrible exciting I know, even so I have been waiting for it to happen. We felt movement with Logan at 16 weeks so I knew it was coming soon. I find myself extremely sentimental this time around. I'm not sure if it is because I know it will be my last or if it is because knowing my pregnancy is progressing means also acknowledging my little man is getting big. At either rate, we will enjoy it...and for now be pleasantly bothered by the movement from down below!

Nice Spring Zoo Day

Today was beautiful and we took full advantage and went to the zoo with the Maclaskey. Hooray for nice spring weather!

Special Moments

The other day we stopped by Nana's house to say hi. While we were there my grandparents stopped by also. From the time Logan was 8 months old, he has been a bit intimidated by them. They are loud and jolly by nature which isjust a little much for him at time. That's why these pics are so cool. This is probably one ofthe first times Logan has sat down by Papa without screaming for over a year! Oh, the power of bubbles!

14 Weeks With Baby Taylor #2

My sister in law asked very nicely for a pic of my "baby belly" about a month ago...I am just getting around to it! Yesterday I went for an appt. I am actually still down on my weight from where I started. I am sure that the whole tooth fiasco and not eating much due to that has influenced it a little bit. All my labs were great. Not anemic this time around so no nasty iron pills yet! Any of you that have had to take these knows why they are miserable!

The Dr. couldn't hear the heartbeat at my last appt. but we heard it just fine yesterday clipping right along between 135 and 158. Measuring right on so far although I feel much bigger than I did with Logan at this stage. It must just be my uterus saying, "I have no tone! Dear Lord, didn't we just do this?" So, not much to report! The doctor I switched to in order to deliver Logan in Wichita is no longer delivering so I switched to her partner Dr. Greenberg. She's pleasant and straightforward and always seems to do what I want. Coming from a nurse, you can't beat that!

I have a business conference in Dallas in the middle of May. I will have another appt. in 4 weeks then schedule the sono for the week after to find out what we are having. I don't know if I am excited to know or not. It will be our last so it really doesn't matter. Even pretending that I would want one sex over another will only bring disappointment so I am not going to do that! This baby is very wanted and blessed and will be loved either way. Logan has been practicing holding babies so he will be all ready when he/she gets here!

Bad Attitude

I had to work until seven this evening and for whatever reason Logan had a baaaad attitude for Daddy. Usually he is pretty good when Christopher is here but not the case tonight! I guess we all have to have our good and bad days. I took this picture after he had fallen asleep and rolled himself up in his quilt in front of the TV. He doesn't usually like blankets ot being covered up by them but he tends to roll himself up and block everyone out when he's in a bad mood. Makes me wish I could do this on certain days. He reminded me of the wicked witch that had the house fall on her in The Wizard of Oz with only his feet sticking out!

What a Ham

Logan was in a good mood today...went to church with Nana this morning and gave mom a little bit of time to get some continuing education done. He took a decent nap and ate a good dinner. The top pic is the three boys wrestling around after dinner. We had a great day!

Elmo Live!

Today we had sooooo much fun! We went to see Sesame Street Live, "Elmo's Healthy Heros." Logan was a but ovewhelmed at first but soon joined in the fun and had a blast. We went with Abby, Payton, Lisa and Trace. Considering it was lunch time and dangerously close to nap time I thought all the kids were very well behaved! This will be such a fun show to take him back to when he's older...too bad he won't be able to remember this. Good thing we have the pictures to prove it!
