Little Frog Man

When I registered for this robe and slippers outfit I wasn't sure if he'd ever get to actually wear it. Turns out it is great for leaving the butt open without a diaper for awhile! Not to mention the fact that it is so darn cute.

A Full Afternoon

Abby and Holli- First post-baby Margaritas at On the Border
Payton loves Logan

Can't stop kissin on him

Logan's first Pinocle game at Nana's
Papa Kris
Uncle AJ(aka the baby hog)

We had a busy but good day today. We made it to meet the babysitter, survived dinner in Wichita, went for our first walk with the stroller and even made it to Nana's when we got back to sit in on a game of Pinocle. The girl in the picture with me at Nana's is Uncle AJ's girlfriend Kristen. We adore her and think she is absolutely sweet. She's learning the game, and all the quirks of playing Pinocle with my family. I don't even know any other kids that know HOW to play Pinocle or what it is. I always thought my parents were crazy for teaching us but we have a great time. We were definitely ready for bed when we got home...little did we know Logan had other plans!

Look Who's Awake!

Hey Everyone!
I need some attention please.

The puppy loves to cuddle with me.

But I'm really waiting for Nana to come home.
We spent today...you guessed it, just hanging out at the house! We did go out for a late breakfast/early lunch at 11:00 this morning. This afternoon Logan refused to go down for nap. He was awake from 12:30 until just now at 4:00 when he finally gave in. It's like he just didn't want to miss anything. I'll take him awake at 12:30 in the afternoon over 12:30 in the morning anytime though.

Nana and Papa will be home tomorrow. We can't wait to show them how much Logan has changed in the last week and a half. Then we are going to meet our babysitter and have dinner with Abby and Walt. It should be a good day. We love weekends when daddy is home. It's so much easier to get things done. Steve laughed at me the other day because he came home and found me "wearing" Logan. I have a sling and a strap carrier and he likes them both. So don't be alarmed if you find me doing some babywearing in order to keep house over here!

An Evening At Home With The Boys

Playtime with brother
All my boys

Mommy time
There isn't much to say tonight. It's cool and rainy here...the kind of weather that makes me want to go snuggle up with a baby and good book! I don't know that the book thing will happen but I'm sure there will be much snuggling of the infant child...how can I help it? He just begs to be loved on! Tonight he sat awake and stared at Christopher for the longest time. Steve can't wait until he becomes a little more interactive. I see big changes in him everyday. They are only little for such a short time. I will miss this stage in his life when it is gone. That gives me permission to spoil/hold/love on him as much as possible now!

Sweet Thing

There is nothing sweeter,
than a freshly bathed baby,

wrapped in a fluffy, soft hooded towel.

Logan is getting better with bathtime. He doesn't scream the ENTIRE time any more. His cord fell off today so tonight we could really fill up the tub, submerse him and keep him warm. We didn't have any appointments today, just kind of hung around at the house. Uncle AJ and Kristen came by to visit this afternoon.

We are working really hard on the breastfeeding thing. He still hasn't ever gotten formula but it is difficult with the nipple shield when we have to go somewhere to breastfeed. It's much easier to be bums and hang out at the house where we can walk around half naked during the day(as long as Christopher is at school), take naps whenever we want and just be free. I keep telling myself it will get better and my husband is soooo supportive. Getting to sleep during the day sure makes the long nights much easier to handle. We took to the couch until about 3 a.m. last night so that everyone else could get some sleep!

Just Hangin' Out

Not much new going on...still working on trying to figure out our nights. I took Logan for his two week check-up yesterday. Last week he had gained some weight and was up to 6 pounds 10 ounces. He lost an ounce and was down to 6 pounds 9 ounces yesterday. I'm frustrated to say the least. He seems to be eating great. He breastfeeds all day and night and Steve feeds him bottles in the evening when he is home.
I'm sure that my doctor didn't say anything near to what my hormonal self perceived her saying but I ended up bawling like a baby in the car on the way home. I don't know why I felt like such a failure just because the poor kid lost an ounce. I'll sure be glad when my emotions are back to normal!

Oh, SO Cute!

The mom and the tiny bit of photographer in me couldn't resist last night because Logan was in such a good mood. We had to get the new camera out and catch a few shots. We had an awesome night last night. Logan slept for nearly 5 hours. Of course at 4:45 when he woke up he was ready to go but I don't even remember the last time I got 5 hours of sleep all night...combined! Thank God for sleep.
He is starting to be awake more and for longer periods of time. He is going to be so much fun!

Life with Logan

Logan getting kissed by girlfriend Payton

Snuggles with big brother

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. We've really just been trying to enjoy every moment with Logan. They are little for such a short amount of time. I can't believe he is a week and a half old already! He is the joy of our lives. I'd type more but my emotions and hormones are still kinda wacky and I'd probably end up sobbing...tears of joy that is.

Steve went back to work on Weds and Logan and mom have been doing just fine. However, we do have lots of projects to get done this weekend with daddy home. I don't know why it seems like all I get done when are home together is feeding him. I guess that's what breastfeeding is all about. I don't mind being at his beck and call at all though. New pics coming soon. I didn't have the good ones downloaded on the computer yet. Nana Susan and Papa Kris are out of town though and I know she is dying to see some new stuff. Hang in there and have a good time Nana!

38 weeks and ready!

Well I had an appt yesterday. I'm dilated to a three...baby is definitely moving down farther. Maybe we'll have a baby this weekend! Grandma Dixie predicted two weeks ago that he would come today on the full moon. I'm not sure how much I believe in the full moon thing but I hope he does come soon.

Rough Weekend

It was a bit of a rough weekend around our house. I made it through 12 hour shifts on Friday and Saturday but my legs were so swollen by the time Sunday rolled around that there was no way in heck it was happening. So, I had to call in on Sunday...spent all day Sunday and most of the day Monday trying to recooperate.

The boys went downtown for breakfast Saturday and got hit by some weirdo with a medical problem behind the wheel of a vehicle. There were six or seven cars involved and thank God no one was hurt outside of the driver that caused all the issues. Needless to say we will be without a vehicle for awhile...making things just a but more interesting given our current cirumstances. We have had no shortage of offers to borrow vehicles from friends and family and will probably be taking everyone up on them at some point and time. I think it will be a few weeks until we get the truck back. With so many vehicles involved, our insurance company has already told us to kiss getting a loaner car goodbye. And to top it all off the fine Patrol officer at the good ol' El Dorado P.D. has three days off after working the weekend. Since he didn't finish the report before he signed off on Sunday that means it will be the end of the week before our insurance company even gets the actual police report...if we're lucky! What a jerk, I don't get to leave work until all my charts are done...why should the cops? You can't tell me the scene of the accident is going to be any more fresh in his mind on Thursday than it would have been on Sunday. Nevermind me and my opinions...everyone has one, right?

You all know how much of a control freak I am and how I hate to be screwed over by other people...case in point here. Just goes to show that sometimes you don't even have to be moving in a vehicle to get in an accident. I'm just glad both the boys are safe. Life will be a bit more interesting around here for awhile! I was hoping that maybe all the excitement would be enough to throw me into labor. So far, I must just be resilient! That or none of this irritates my uterus near as much as it frustrates me.
