Nursery is Done

Complete with furniture!
Sunday night I got home from work and what would I find? Of course, the nursery was finished. My over-acheiving husband had everything done right done to the plates put back on the light switches and outliets. For some reason it's little things like that seem to always not get done right away. The room looks great. The above picture was taken with me standing in the closet because it's the only way I could get everything in. There's still plenty of open floor space over by the windows, just looks a bit cramped from this angle. I can't wait til friday when we get our first glimpse of what this kiddo is going to look like.

Almost There

Done with Painting!
The Lovely Rug

Putting together the furniture

Tired Boys
As I predicted Steve had the entire nursery almost done when I got home tonight. Needless to say all the boys were pretty worn out(dogs included). Pictures to come tomorrow of the finished product with all the furniture in place. I'm starting to think we might actually be having a baby! It's still all been a bit of dream until now...

Moving right along

Yay! We have color on the walls. I had Chase today and we picked Abby and Peyton up early this morning and ran to Wichita. It was a full day. We had presents to pick up, scrubs to order and the most exciting part of the day...we got the rug for the nursery. Steve and I had been contemplating what to do with the hardwood floor in that room and for some reason the carpet outlet was calling my name. I found a huge rug that will cover almost the entire room and much more affordably than I thought I would be able to do. So, since my hubby is a little working maniac and I will be gone at work all weekend I'm guessing he'll have almost everything done by sunday night! For those I haven't talked to personally, we have sono next friday and Steve is hoping to find out if we will be having a little boy or a little girl. Time is flying!

A Night for Idol

Any of you reading this page that know us well at all know that tonight is Idol night(American Idol that is). So there will be no new pics and I'm tired as can be after a long day at work. But, the boys did get the ceiling painted in the nursery before I got home tonight. Our original plan was not to have to paint the ceiling. We thought that it was white and just had a light green tinge to it do to the awful color of the walls and trim. Well, after painting the base coat on the walls and trim last night it was very apparent that the crazy english people who lived here before us did infact invest in a different color of very light, very bright green with which to paint the ceiling. Lord knows we loved these people but for the life of me I can't grasp the ideas that they entertained when painting the bedrooms in this house! Oh well...something to laugh about I guess.

Finally Some Progress

Christopher hard at work with the Kilz
Here we are doing some prep work to the nursery prior to painting. The boys were throwing tape balls at me when I was up on a chair. Here's Steve apologizing because the dog chasing the tape balls about knocked the chair out from underneath me.

So all in all at least the project has taken off. Although Steve has been working to get the room ready it felt good to actually get a coat of paint on the walls today! The guest bedroom has been overtaken with big boxes of nursery furniture because we have nowhere else to put them. I know Steve can't wait to get the nursery done (so that I'll have one less thing to nag him about). Christopher seems to be having fun with it also and it at least gives him a way to be involved.

It a new thing

Ok, so I am attempting this whole blog experience. Everyone will just have to hang in there with me until I get it all figured out! I'm not promising that this will occur in any relatively short or decent amount of time but hopfeully sometime before the baby arrives. We'd love to be able to update everyone near and far daily with this blog.
