Logan and His Shapes

We ended up with the two squares because by the time I got the camera all the other shapes had hit the floor! He's too cute(I know I'm biased). And yes, I'm in big trouble. His eyes DO talk.

Logan's 1st Trip to the Zoo

Payton and Mr. Gorilla

RRROOOAARRRR!

Sad Orangutan

Trace needed some love as well.

Three little monkeys

Little Bo Peep

He wasn't to sure.

Today we went to the zoo with Payton, Abby, Trace and Lisa(Abby's sister in law and son). The babies were so good. No one had a single melt down. The weather was beautiful and all the animals were lazy. We bought a season pass so I have a feeling we will be spending lots of time there!

The weekend

They look like they have been caught red-handed!

There must have been a heat wave...dad broke out the shorts.

While I worked this weekend the boys were home spending some quality time together with dad. I'm bummed to have missed the beautiful weather but so glad that winter seems to finally be coming to an end! Logan and mom are hanging out at home today. We might go check in on Payton and Abby. Dad is at work. No big plans for the day!

Sharing...

It's amazing how difficult it has become to share the computers at our house these days. We have two but of course I only like to post off of the one that catalogs my pics my date and saves EVERYTHING. So you might catch some text only posts now and then when I don't get the machine I want because it is otherwise occupied...dear Lord! It sounds like we are at the casino and the computer is a slot machine. Anyhow, I have pics to post from the weekend and more fun to share...check back later!

P.S. Pray for Olivia as she is recovering from the nastiness that is going around! She is so near and dear to my heart as are her parents.

Monkey Feet

love this cute little sleeper my mother-in-law bought for Logan...
Mr. monkey feet caught on camera!
He's playing with the container some little tiny headphones go in. I find it hilarious
the things he loves to play with. It kind of reminds me of how the box was always way more fun than what came in it...

He Makes Me Smile

How can you not beam from ear to ear with this darling young man smiling back at you every morning? I can't help it...he makes me smile.

As I was packing up most of his 3-6 months clothes today and preparing to return the next bunch of borrowed outfits and pass down the ones that I was not overly attatched to, it hit me once again...he's getting so big! I must admit that I thought he would be over 18 pounds at the doctors yesterday and was a bit shocked when I found out he wasn't. Then when the doctor said that he had dropped slightly on the growth chart and was now 45th percentile on weight I was even more appalled. Where would you put any more weight?

Don't get me wrong...he's my baby and I love his darling fat rolls that I know one day he'll outgrow. But where would he put any more weight on his tiny body? Even so, we are adding solids at lunch now and always doing rice cereal anytime we feed him. It should also help combat the problems that I have had keeping up with milk supply for the hungry munchkin. We're so lucky that he is a happy baby who loves to eat and has no apparent food allergies as of yet!

6 Month Check-up

We went to Dr. Perry's for Logan's well child check-up today. His weight 17lbs and 7 ozs. was 45th percentile. His length 27 1/4 inches was 75th percentile and his head...drum roll please...was 18 1/4 inches. That's a whopping 95th percentile. The kid must have a huge brain in there! Everything was fine. He got four shots and my doc doesn't give any more than four at a time(he actually needed five). We have to go back next month and get his Prevnar, #2 Flu and #2 H1N1 shots. I wasn't going to do the flu or H1N1 but Dr. Perry said that they still haven't seen the seasonal flu surge yet. Hard to believe but maybe we just won't have one this year. Maybe the encouragement to get everyone vaccinated has cut down the numbers that much! Wouldn't it be great? Regardless, he'll be protected now. More to come later tonight. Logan is napping and I have errands to do!

New Day

So sorry...no pics tonight. Today I'm tired. Logan just finally had us back in a semi-normal sleeping pattern: to bed at 9:45p.m., up at 3:30a.m. to eat, back to sleep until 5:30 then up for the day. Boy did he throw a wrench in our schedules the past couple of nights! We were back to up every two hours...sometimes every 1 1/2 hours. I think he is close to learning to crawl. Monday night I found him on hands and knees in the crib screaming bloody murder...maybe he didn't want us to miss it. I'm not sure. It always happens on days that I've 1) been at work and 2)have to go back to work. It's almost like a punishment for being a working mom. I'm not sure if he misses nursing or bonding or what. The only thing I'm sure of is that it's frustrating...such is the life of a mommy with kids, right? I wouldn't trade it for the world. I can remember the days(and nights) that I sat around praying and hoping for such children. Now that I have one, it's exactly as I thought it would be. My every thought and moment is consumed with his well being...maybe every couple of days there are a few moments that I am almost as concerned about my husbands well-being...I'll leave it at that. Anyhow, tomorrow is a new day...and we're home together. It almost broke my little heart tonight when I came home and extended my hands to Logan and instead of reaching for me, he slumped into his daddy. Thank goodness this didn't last long! His 6 month check-up is tomorrow. I think we're down to one shot and maybe he won't hate the doctor. Something more interesting to come tomorrow...by the way...welcome back allergy season!!!

Stir Crazy

Is anyone else out there ready for spring?
This most definitely is NOT what spring looks like!

It is however how it looks outside here today.

We're getting tired of being stuck inside.

We're all going a bit stir crazy!

Little devil looks like he's up to something.

If only we knew what!

So glad our happy guy is back!

Busy, Busy

Just a quick note...Logan is on the uphill swing of this cold/flu/God forbid RSV/whatever it is and is starting to just run the low grade temp in the evenings only. As you can imagine we've been busy trying to keep him as happy as you can make a sick kiddo. Steve stayed home from work since I was working three days in a row and I hate that I haven't been home to comfort him. Thank goodness he has a Superdaddy whom he loves very much.

I work again tomorrow then I'm off to Logan's girlfriend, Payton 1 yr. B-day party. On top of everything else I had promised Abby I would do P's cake. I'm so thankful that it wasn't nearly as difficult to accomplish I had imagined. If Logan doesn't run a fever at all tomorrow I might consider taking him...hate for him to miss it! But let's be honest, neither one of them will remember and it's just not worth exposing everyone else's precious babes to whatever the heck it is he had!

More of a post to come tomorrow or Friday and hopefully some pics as well!

Feeling a little better...

I came home from working all weekend last night to a sick baby. It was obvious he didn't feel good. He hadn't slept well Saturday night but wasn't really having any symptoms. Last night he ran 101.5 fever all night long and was coughing with a nasty running nose. I couldn't get his temp. lower than 100.2. Needless to say he didn't sleep...again. This morning I got up and called the pediatrician. She said he's old enough for Motrin now so between Tylenol every 4 hrs, Motrin every 6 hrs, and a good nap his fever was down to 98.8. I just checked it at 3 and we are on the way back up(99.3). Isn't it March? It's time for the crap to be done! He is feeling better though with the fever lowered. He even felt well enough to play in his bouncer for awhile earlier. I feel another long night coming on though. I hope he gets over this quickly.

The Scene At Our House Tonight

Tonight we had fun watching American Idol and playing with the dog...he loves for the boys to torment him...but is amazingly gentle with Logan. It's almost like he knows that the small soul hanging off of his fur is another fragile baby who doesn't have a clue what he is doing. It's nights like these that make me miss our big fur babies. It was tough losing two of them while pregnant. Maybe someday we'll be ready for another....
