What A Beautiful Day!

Today was gorgeous so we went to the zoo with Abby, Payton and Baby Grayson. The kids were great and we had soooo much fun. Logan walked all over the place and only fell twice! Payton made up for his gracefulness...I am going to HATE this winter when we can't be outside with the kids!

Papas Pretzel Boy and Daddy's Guitar

Hmmm...look what daddy left out!
It's one of my favorite things!
It's still bigger than me.
But daddy always lets me play!

My dad loves pretzels and now so does Logan. He always has to climb up in Papas lap and ask for one. This evening dad came over for dinner and there were no pretzels out so I had to go scavenging in the cabinet for some. Mommy's twists aren't the same as papas sticks!

Logan was being just to darn cute with daddy's guitar this afternoon. He is still working on getting in his one year molars so he has been a bit of a bear at times!

Potty Tales

Before you start judging I know Logan is only twelve months old and we most definitely are NOT pushing potty training. However, he is VERY interested and there are certain times of the day that he always pees(first thing in the morning and during bath time). So after talking with Steve last night I decided to give it a try this morning. Here's how it went...

Logan got up as usual and watched me go to the bathroom. I then took his diaper off and sat him on his potty. After only a few seconds he hopped off. I thought, okay we will try again later. Next thing I know I look over and he is standing right beside his potty....peeing! I resisted the urge to scream NO!( I think it almost automatic after having so many dogs) Needless to say none of it was anywhere near the potty!

So I praised him for pottying, cleaned up the pee and went about our morning. I think this potty training thing might be quite entertaining!

Busy, Busy...

Farmer Logan
Wet grass is so enticing!

Abby's concrete porch is so much fun when it's wet!
I think he was kissing his reflection...not quite sure!
Well it's been another busy weekend. I worked Friday then Saturday we went to Wichita to get the big boys' outfits for the wedding this weekend. Then we were off to Abby's to help them get settled coming home from the hospital. Baby Grayson is doing well and Logan loves him soooo much! I worked today and now I am off for a week for the cake making and wedding. So exciting!

A Cleaner Bath Time

Here's a pic from this evenings bathtime...no poo involved! Just a good ole washing to get the mac and cheese out of it's hiding places. Why do kids like to store food in weird places? Logan thinks his ears are a treasure chest...

This Morning...

...Logan woke up and was an absolute bear. Then about two hours later this is what I find!

It came out the bottom and top of the diaper...covered the outift I had just dressed him in and of course all over me as well when I picked him up.

I am pleased to report that he is now in a MUCH better mood!

He Is Here!

Grayson Lane Maclaskey
5 pounds 14.5ounces
18 1/2 inches long
6:52 p.m. September 22, 2008

Proud
Proud Parents
So Precious

Well we were up visiting Abby today at the hopsital and had just left when she sent me a message that her water had broke. I was filled with mixed emotions...so excited but so scared too since she was still a bit early.

After an activity filled afternoon/evening Grayson was born...4 1/2 hours after Abby's water broke. I'm thrilled to report both mom and babe are doing well! Thanks for all of your prayers. It was an unforgettable experience that was truly beautiful. I watch new life come into the world all the time at work and while each time it is a miracle, there was something purely poetic about watching my best friend give birth.

Congrats Maclaskeys!

Our Joy....

Umm...
I've been watching the other kids my age at Kinder Care feed themselves...haven't quite got the hang of it but I love practice!
This is his face during the gasping noise...hopefully we'll catch it on video for you soon!

Got this cool puzzle from Aunt Lisa for my birthday and I love it!

It's been so fun to see all the new things Logan is doing just in the past two weeks since starting at Kindercare. It's a long ways to drive for drop off and pick up but I just KNOW it will all be worth it! Today he ran a fever which made tensions especially high but I think it is the four one year molars that are trying to come in that are the cause. Logan is staying with nurse Donna tomorrow while mommy goes to the Dr. and runs errands...then we are off to see Abby and Payton...Yay!

The Blog Has Been Still...

...but we most certainly have not!

It's been a busy weekend.
We had a secret last week that we now may share...
These two love birds,
flew into KC on Friday,
and in all of their spontaniety
got married!
My brother is now a married man!
Logan has a new Aunt!
The ceremony was very small and intimate.
We couldn't be happier for the new couple!
Logan was really worn out.

Ok, so really it was a crazy weekend! Thursday I made cakes for Ethi's bridal shower which was Sat. a.m. Then Friday it was off to KC for Uncle AJ's wedding. It was at Kristin's dads house...gorgeous house, ceremony and neighborhood. Congrats Kristin and AJ!

Then we buzzed back home in time for the shower. Then Nana entertained Logan while Daddy drove the girls around for the bach. party. What a crazy weekend! Getting ready now for church then dinner with Nana and Papa. Considering that the birthday party stuff from last week is still all over my living room, maybe I will get some cleaning done today!

Oh, and pray for Abby(Payton's mommy). They admitted her last week for high bp but she was released. Now she's on bedrest(how do you do bedrest with and 18 month old?). Anyhow we are hoping she can wait another week or two to deliver and give that baby's lungs a chance to mature. But she hates bedrest so it's difficult for her. Prayers and thoughts for a good week, lower bp and a healthy baby!

Park Visit with the Boys

This weekend while Mommy was working the boys tried feeding the ducks at the park again...except this time the geese had taken over! They were much more welcoming than the ducks...no hissing and they even backed away from Logan. Last time they went Steve was scared to put him on the ground! Christopher loves Logan so much and is SOOOO good with him. They are going to be great friends despite their age difference.

12 Month Checkup

Today Logan had his one year checkup. Don't let the pics fool you...it was NOT a happy visit!

Here are his measurements for one year:
Weight 20lbs. 10.5 oz 25th%
Length 29 3/4 inches 45th%
Head 19 1/4 inches 95th%

So he is tall and lean...we already knew that! His head measurement was stable
and is back on the charts now so we slid right out of a neurology consult. Yay! Logan showed Dr. Perry all the fun things he can do: walking well by himself, standing without pulling up, stooping to pick up objects then standing again and talked and babbled the entire time we were there. Well, except for part when we were screaming bloody murder!

She must have had quite a few patients to see. They took us right back to the exam room but in there we waited almost an hour....not fun with a hungry and tired one year old. After the Dr. came in he got his four shots. We have to go back in a month for routine lab draw and flu shot. Oh boy, can't wait! All sarcasm aside I am so glad that he's healthy and normal and quite the handful. I wouldn't have him any other way.

He is so exhausted now and is napping...better go get some things done!

Logan's 1st Birthday Party

Birthday Boy
Special people at my party...Payton giving the baby kisses.
I showed everyone how I walk.
They couldn't get enough!
I had happy moments...
Little showoff!
My brother was such a big help!
We had fun with balloons.

Here is my Elmo cake my mommy made!
Happy Birthday to me...
Hmmm...what is this?
Ummm...not to sure about this slimy red stuff.
Okay I really hate it!
Lots of people came to my big party!
I had lots of gifts.
And LOTS of help opening them!
Abby made me a special photo book of Payton and I.
I drank Mexican coffee from Grandma's cup.

The cousins, Payton, Berkley and Brendan were so much fun.

As you can see we had tons of fun at the party. We had a great turn out and Logan got to see some people he hadn't seen in a VERY long time. Presents were great...cake, not at all fun. I'm not sure if he didn't like it because the frosting was red or what but it didnt go over well AT ALL. I'm just relieved its over and so happy that we have such a wonderful family and support group with which to share our child!
