Sweet Playmates

These kids and their facial expressions just crack me up!  We had the whole Maclaskey crew over for dinner tonight.  The adults had some good conversation and the kids had fun playing.  I can't wait for nicer weather and longer days so we can hang with these buddies a bit more!

Come On Spring!

The sun was out when we got home from work and daycare so we put on our jackets and went out to play for a bit.  The wind was blowing and it was chilly but the sun feels SO GOOD.  Come on spring!!!

Sis & the Baby

I couldn't quite tell whether or not she wanted to choke this baby or give it CPR!

Fridge Monster

So guess who is finally big enough to get the fridge open by himself?  That's right...my goofy middle child.  It appears suddenly he is growing up on me!  He now loves to drink out of big boy cups, pour his own drinks and get water out of the fridge door.  Nothing is safe from Gavin when he wants it!

St. Patrick's Day {2014}

Guess who said her first word tonight?  That's right...Miss Kate!  And what might she have said?  "Mama!"  It made my day and was just what I needed after a rough couple of weeks. The boys are so loving towards her.  Our wonderful daycare gals got the top 2 pics early today.  Pure sweetness!

Pedi & Party

First Pedicure
Today we went to Payton's birthday party at the YMCA.  It was Kate's first time in a swimsuit so we of course had to have her first pedicure too!  Lisa went with me to help wrangle the boys.  She is holding Gav in the back row and you can barely see them. The boys did very well though and had a great time.  I can't believe this little princess is 5!

Katelyn {6 Months}

Kate had her 6 month check up today.  Let's just say it wasn't pleasant...over 2 hrs at the office waiting, Rotateq vaccine completely evacuated with her entire stomach contents plus the normal shots.  Ugh...just glad it's over!

Dear Katelyn,
  At 6 months you weigh 14lbs 8oz(25th percentile), are 25 inches long(25th percentile), have a big ol noggin that is just under 17 inches(65th percentile), wear 6-9 month clothes, are rolling all over front to back, back to front, starting to get up on hands and knees, saying some sounds but no real words yet(but you are close), still nursing or taking breastmilk bottles when Mommy is at work like a champ, are refusing all solids(we have tried rice, bananas and sweet potatoes but you only gag) and wake up at night still several times to nurse.  You are so happy, expressive and vocal.  Boy do you know what you want!  I am loving watching you grow and change but it is all happening so quickly.  Mommy gets a little sad when she thinks about it.  I am not wasting a moment soaking you up!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy

Only Half There

So a dear friend inspired me to get this down and be completely honest about it.  Though I am hitting publish, 8 days later...it is still fresh.

I have been failing like a complete failure here lately.  It feels as if I am only half way doing everything.  I am working on 3 big projects for work at 2 different jobs right now and can't seem to get any of them completed, much less to my standards.

I am so stressed about work that it makes me feel like less than half the Mommy I want to be at home.  I am impatient, short-tempered, tired and grumpy.  None of these are qualities that I want to write home about.

I have another dear friend I pray with/for often who is praying for my wisdom and clarity on exactly what I am supposed to be doing in this troubled, busy season.  Steve's business has started taking off so he has been getting late each night, just in time to see the kids for 30-45 min then help me put them to bed.  While I am so happy that hopefully soon we won't be stressing about that, it is hard to keep this routine up!

So here I am...trying to figure out what works, whats not working, what is priority and what is extra that can be cut out.

Update:  I finished all three projects.  Steve says superwoman is back.  :)  I am still not quite feeling like myself but definitely an improvement!

Sunny Weather

Finally, we have some decent weather for March!
It has been about 20 degrees lower each day than the normal avg highs and we were really starting to wonder if spring would ever come.
Sissy likes the baby swing as much as the boys did.  I can forsee some long summer days in this back yard ahead of us.

Daddy Loves

Daddy has been working long hours and it is so cute to see the babes snuggle up to him when he finally gets home.

Adding to the Family

Nana, Aunt Dee Dee and Mommy threw a shower today for Savanna.  She found out just about 8 weeks ago that she was expecting...in 10 weeks.  So her due date is March 17th.  How funny would a St. Patty's Day baby be?

We had a jungle theme and I thought these cookie cutters were adorable!  They actually weren't that labor intensive either aside from mixing 7 different colors.

Simple Saturday

Today we enjoyed a nice quiet morning at home.  With Daddy being in business for himself and Mommy work two jobs, mornings like this are very few.  We simply sat around and soaked each other up!  Logan is learning to write his name and I was so proud of the above attempt.  Gavin didn't want any part of the picture taking and Kate was hamming it up.  I can't believe how fast they are all growing.  I need a pause button for life.
