I'm not sure why this pathetic picture caught and held my interest...nothing like real life!
Logan getting love from Uncle Ryan
Today we went to Steve's family Thanksgiving. I always enjoy seeing my nieces...oh yeah, and my sister and brother in law as well as mom and dad! These kids just grow and change so fast. I remember last Thanksgiving I was holding Mayzie, changing her diapers and putting her to sleep.

The meal was wonderful...as always at mom's house. I ate way to much...again. I'm hoping that since I'm back at work five days this week I will just work all this Thanksgiving weight right off! Logan doesn't have another doctors appt. until he is four months old but everyone has been asking how much he weighs. We knew he had had a growth spurt but weren't sure how much.

I bought a digital scale today so we could weight him....drum roll please...thirteen pounds even! Can you believe my little six and a half pound baby has doubled his size in LESS THAN three months. Must be some good food he's getting!

Happy Thanksgiving Part 2-Howell Family At the Farm

Wouldn't be a Howell gathering without Pinocle
Five Generations: Logan, Holli, Papa Kris, Great Grandpa Kenney, Great-Great Grandma Wanda
Grandma Wilma is SOOOO good at putting Logan to sleep
He wasn't quite sure what to think of Great-Great Grandma, this was the first time that they have ever met.

We spent the last two days at my Great Aunt Helen and Uncle Tom's farm in Wellington. Christopher was with us...he isn't in any of these pics because I didn't see him long enought to take one! All the boys were out on the dirt bikes, go-carts and four wheelers. We only saw them at meal times and if you know me...well you know that I am going to be eating and NOT taking pictures at meal times!

It was the first time many of my dad's family got to meet Logan. Of course they all thought that he was every bit as adorable as his pictures and were shocked by his easy going nature. They all agreed he must get that from his dad. I stand firm to the fact that my boys are all so laid back only because I do enough thinking and worrying for all four of us!

It was especially neat to see Logan in his Great-Great Grandma's arms. My mom has a couple of pictures of me with my great-greats and I think it is awesome. I only wish that my Great-Great Grandpa Eldon could be here to see him and hold him too. He would be in heaven. I'm sure he would have scared the heck out of him with his electrolarnyx at first but after a few minutes Logan would have been laughing hysterically at him....

Oh, by the way that is the latest. Logan is giggling! I almost peed my pants laughing at him the other morning, it was so cute. I can't believe how fast he's growing. I know I keep saying that but it is so true. Tomorrow we are off to Haven to see Nina Jerri, Grandpa Steve and the rest of the family. Until then, be safe and be blessed!

Happy Thanksgiving Part 1

Yum...my first Jolly Rancher
Pape Kris was giving it to me...man would he be in trouble if mom were here!

Here is my great Aunt Lisa holding me.

Next, is my great Uncle Les.

I can't believe I'm going to have to say this but I didn't take one picture today. These pics are courtesy of Nana Susan. Between cooking the turkey, making green bean casserole and getting ready for work I didn't have much time left for anything else...except eating of course. Logan had a great Thanksgiving. He stayed and hung out at Nana's after I went to work so dad could have a little bit of free time. It is so much fun seeing him interact with everyone!

An Off Day

Here I am in a good mood.
Here's all the boys.

I love it when daddy comes home.

I crashed out about 7:50 p.m.

Sleeping like an angel...
...Only to wake up twenty minutes later screaming like a banchee...I don't have any idea what was going on with Logan today. He was happy one minute, screaming the next. He didn't take any of his usual naps and only ate little bits at a time. He had plenty coming out the other end so I don't think that was the problem either, though I gave him a suppository just for good measure. For the past couple of days he has been chewing on his hands like crazy. Makes me wonder if even this early on he is teething. I finally broke down and gave him some Tylenol tonight for lack of any other insight...I can't say that it has helped. I just hope he crashes out for the evening sometime soon!

A Lazy Day With Mom

I was in a great mood today!
My bears were happy too.
We all hung around the house like a bunch of lazy people.
Ta-Dah!
Wait a minute...why am I still in my PJ's?
Today we didn't do much of anything. Logan was in rare form. You read the last caption correctly...we didn't even get out of our PJs! I had to slip a sweater on and run to the bank and walmart but other than that we were home. He makes me wish I could stay home everyday. He changing so fast!

Sounds From Logan

Logan wasn't nearly as talkative once I put the camera on him but the video does at least show is cute smile and his one dimple. He gets focused on someone or something and there is no taking his attention away until he is ready!

Swing chair

I am learning how to blow bubbles.

Fashion patrol...who dressed me in these two different striped pieces? Mom would have a fit!
I love batting around my tagalongs animals.

Or just simply watching the rot box(it's what mommy calls the TV).

No more pictures please, can't a guy get a break around here?

I recently discovered that Logan's Boppy Travel Swing also converts in a chair. I can't say enough good things about this chair. It is lightweight and easy to carry. It folds up for storage. It plays awesome music(much better than what my mom had to suffer through). It has a timer and also just an on/off switch. If you need a good shower idea this would be it! The back sits straight up and locks into position. He loves it! He can see everything going on. We have also hung a few toys off the toy bar and they dangle just enough that he can get to them. He is starting to grasp things and now loves to look into mirrors.

I know I haven't blogged much lately. He is just such a busy boy and keeps me on my toes. Yesterday was my day off but I had a meeting in Wichita so Logan went to stay and play with Grandma and Grandpa Albright(his favorite adoptive G-parents). As if this child doesn't have enough grandparents spoiling him, we've gained another set!

I think he is going through another growing spurt. We are back to getting up about every 2 hours at night again. At least I hope this is temporary. He especially does it on the days that I work. I'm sure he just wants his mommy time but it makes for one very exhausted mommy.
Today we went to the post office and the dreaded Walmart. He was a trooper though! I always love it when my child is an angel in public. It's a good illusion anyway. I work all weekend so it will be up to the boys to keep each other company!

Family Pictures

My mom has wanted family pictures for along time...I think it has been about ten years since she has had a picture of our family with the exclusion of my wedding pictures. With AJ getting ready to leave for the air force, we finally got everybody together to make it happen.
Whole Family

The Taylors

Logan showing off his John Deere boots

Brothers

Christopher, Mr. Cheesey

Sorry I don't have much to say this weekend. Maybe tomorrow I will be a bit more inspired. I am just exhausted. Between the play and Logan not sleeping well I don't have much left over. He mmust be going through another growth spurt. He's been getting up about every 1 1/2 to 2 hours at night to nurse. It makes the nights seem very long and the sleep times very short.

Laundry Day

Mom has discovered a new way to carry me around the house.
This is how much laundry I make in four days.
And here is my one dimple. I love my swing!

Big News...

Did you hear the news?

You'll never guess what little man did last night. I'll give you a hint...the days of leaving him on the couch or the changing table are over. While we were sitting in front of the TV Logan was playing happily on the floor.

Steve made the remark that he was going to be rolling over soon. The next thing I knew, I looked down and Logan rolled from his tummy to his back without any hesitation. Of course I was thinking to myself that my husband had probably already seen him do this and was just being nice to me so that I didn't feel I had missed one of his "firsts".

Truth be told Steve had NOT seen him roll over. So, how cool is that? We both happened to be home and sitting there watching him at this all important moment. I can't believe how fast he is growing. It seems like just yesterday I brought his little six pound, jaundiced and sleepy self home. I am so excited to watch him grow but will miss the days of his newborn period.

But, life goes on. He is already so much fun as he is learning to giggle and talk to us. That's all the big news for today!

Two Month Check-up

This is what my ouchies look like
It's been a long, hard day.

Logan had his two month check-up today. Of course that meant he got all of his shots. He was an absolute trooper. I think he cried more because we were holding him down than he did because of the shots. But then he had tummy troubles when we got home and when he woke up he screamed for almost an hour...very unlike him. Luckily, everything resolved this evening and now he is resting peacefully.

So, the new stats...drum roll please...he weighs ten pounds and fifteen ounces. He is 22 1/2 inches long. That puts him 25th percentile on weight and length. His head is still 50th percentile.

It's gonna be a busy week. We will try to keep the blog updated but I make NO promises with all the activity. Hopefully once we get the play out of the way this weekend than things will calm down some. We are taking family pics on Friday and Logan and I are going to attempt the mall tomorrow to find somewhat matching outfits for everyone. I hope he is in a good mood!
