June 29th Update

This morning while it was cool(90 degrees is cool, right?), Abby and I took the kids to the zoo. Logan has had a difficult time this week and this morning was no exception. I am getting to big to carry him around, especially in the heat, and he isn't adjusting well to it. I figure, better to have him mad at me now rather than when the baby comes. Let's just say that zoo morning was full of wailing and tears.

We had a short nap then this afternoon I had a follow-up doctors appt. after being admitted on Monday. I was so aggravated. Almost an hour after my appt. time I actually saw the Dr. My physician is gone for the week so I saw someone I had never seen before. She(Dr. C) was very nice and explained that the progesterone level they drew on Monday was about half of what it should be. She said this alone could be the cause of my contractions.

I think I was much more informed about hormone levels when we did fertility treatments with Logan. I am going to have to do my research to get there again. She started me on Progesterone injections twice a week with lab draws every two weeks for the time being. While it bothers me to think that my body is somehow not acting as it should, I am happy to have a possible cause for my preterm contractions.

So, now all we have to do is hope the insurance company cooperates and covers these injections...I have no idea how much they are out of pocket but I bet they aren't cheap! Of course, any cost is worth having a healthy term baby...it would just be much less stress to have it be covered. I will keep everyone posted.

Trouble, trouble

Last night with baby taylor #2 was very eventful...I was at work yesterday and about 1:30P.M. I started contracting. It really wasn't anything I was concerned about, not painful. By 4:00 I had started timing them. By 4:30 I realized that they were fairly regular being 3 to 12 min. apart. I had just been down to LDR to do a consult and knew it was packed, with peple in the waiting room. So, I called my to see what she wanted me to do.

Of course my doctor was checked out to someone else I have never met, yet. She wanted me to go get checked out. So, down to LDR I went. One of the sweet little girls I work with clocked out at the same time and went with me. Steve had just gotten home with the boys and I really didn't want him disrupting the entire household to drive over so I told him to stay home.

I actually got back to a room pretty quickly. When they put me on the monitor sure enough my contractions were about every 2-7 min. I don't remember having real contractions with Logan until the day he was born, certainly not this early on. They gave me Tylenol and Benadryl. The FP resident came and did an exam and some swabs to send off. I also got a lovely TV ultrasound to measure cervical length which was reassuring. Baby looked beautiful on the monitor throughout everything.

About 8 my contractions stopped over about a 20 min period. Then, the FP resident walked in and told me that due to a positive Fetal Fibronectin she was considering admitting me and to give steriods to mature the babys lungs. At this point the NICU nurse in me was starting to come out.

I felt like if they were that concerned than they should consult a high risk OB and let him/her make that decision. After that she told me that the fetal fibro might just be false positive. She called the dr on call to get a second opinion. When she came back she said she guessed I could go home and monitor since my contractions had stopped if I hadn't changed any when she examined me. Wow, it makes me crazy to think some people might just say, "Ok" because they don't know anybetter!

On exam I hadn't changed and I was out of that hospital as fast as I could be! It was almost 10P.M. and I was so exhausted. Today I went to work and sat in the office and answered the phone all day which is by the way what I did yesterday. I was about ready to go nuts. I have a follow up appt tomorrow and I am hoping for a good report. I have still been having some contractions but not regular.

Little Taylor Boy #2...please behave your self and stay put for at least 12 more weeks. Although I love my coworkers and have the utmost faith in them I do NOT want to be an NICU mommy...oh yeah, and your daddy would drive them insane!

25 Weeks and the Weekend

We found this awesome water table complete with toys for only $5 at a garage sale yesterday!
Little dare devil...it's hard to think that even a few months ago he couldn't get from climbing the stairs to even sitting on top, let alone standing.

So seriously, where is this baby gonna go for the next 15 weeks? I was this big right before I delivered Logan! I am sure my uterus is just freaking out, lacking tone and the rest of my gut follows suit...but I will be getting into some maternity clothes in a size or two I never saw with Logan. I find the whole things extremely odd considering I weigh less than I did with Logan at this point.

To Baby Taylor #2, we have been trying to keep your name secret just as we did your brothers...however, your lovely toddler of a brother knows your name and has let it slip to a few people! I can't help but laugh at how cute he is when he says it. I can't wait until you are here and he gets to make the connection. This weekend Logan got to feel you move in my belly for the first time. I told him, "Baby XXXXX is kickin' you!" He put his little feet right up to my belly and tapped back saying, "I kick Baby XXXXX." You guys are going to be the best of friends.

First Movie

Today Logan went to his first movie at the theatre! We went and saw Cars 2. I didn't think it was nearly as cute as te first but it still held Logan's attention for the most part. We only left the theatre one time during the almost 2 hour movie and that was so preggo mommy with the tiny bladder could potty! There were other children who were screaming, crying and being yelled at but not our little man...I was SO proud!

Moody Liitle Couch Potato

Belly stickin out like mama...

Last night Logan was in a bit of a funk and I'm not really sure why. I am happy to report though that he slept again from 9:15-6 this a.m.. so hopefully he was just tired. I was so tired last night that my bladder didn't even wake me up! Good quality sleep at the Taylor residence.

We will be home this weekend without any major plans. Cars 2 came out yesterday and provided Logan wakes up in a good mood from his nap today we are going to take him to go see it. He hasn't been to a movie before and didn't do well at the show in Branson...but I know that if anything can hold his attention, it is Cars!

Let Me See Your Bite!

Today there was a not so fun little piece of paper waiting for Mommy to read when she got home from work. After I read it, I asked Logan to "Let me see your bite!" The above face is what he gave me! Unfortunately, or is it fortunately, Logan's facial expression was NOT what I wanted to see. Today at daycare, Logan got his first bite wound from another child.

Now, I was quite sure that my child would be the first to bite, not the other way around. However, his teacher assures us that a certain little girl(whom Steve thinks is particularly found of him) bit him...completely unprovoked. Logan took it like a man, didn't cry or scream...just ran to his own little corner and laid his head down on the floor for a minute.

Ok, so really it's no big deal. There is no broken skin, and after all at least know where this bite came from. As sad as I am for the little girl I am just so happy he didn't bite her back! Let's hope this isn't some new trendy form of love expression going on in his class.

We are growing!

Well time is flying! I can't believe tomorrow I will be 25 weeks pregnant. My belly is growing though and very persistently an active little Taylor boy is gently reminding me of his presence. This baby, like Logan is most active between 9 and 11p.m. and is big enough now that you can see his kicks and rolls just by watching my tummy.

We have had three good nights of sleep in a row for Logan this week. I think we might be on to something! Logan is now a big boy, he hates the medicine dropper. However, the Benadryl that makes it so much more comfy for him to breath all night is apparently A-OK out of a big boy medicine cup...don't know why I didn't catch on sooner!

Happy Fathers Day 2011

We had a very low key fathers day today. It stormed last night and Logan had yet another bad night...I stopped couting after the 4th time I got up with him. About 3:30 it started hailing and I woke up and literally cringed in the sheets. But when we did get up around 6:00 Logan was in good mood so I wasn't complaining. We took Steve to his favorite Chinese place for lunch which was yummy as always! He had a great nap then Aunt Kate and Papa came over for dinner. We fixed steaks and had an awesome meal. We are blessed to have such great Daddy's in our lives!

Shower for Baby Edwards

33 weeks and 23 weeks
Cousins!

On Sunday, Mom and I threw a babe shower for Ethanni. Some of the group had left already by the time we did the above pic. We had a nice little crowd. She received many nice gifts but there weren't so many people there that it took 3 hours to open them all. We played games, at great good and had a good time! It will be neat that our kiddos are so close in age. Ethi and I are a year apart and were very close growing up.

On of the best parts of the whole day was that Logan was an angel! He behaved himself, said please and thank you and shared very well with cousin Sofi. Aunt Kate and Nana were there and he always seems to do well when Mommy's look alike and Nana are present. I guess having two extra sets of arms that remind you of Mommy never gets old!

Park Fun

Yesterday afternoon was gorgeous! We took advantage and spent some time at the park burning off energy. Logan loves to feed the ducks. He shrieks and howls like you wouldn't believe. I am so glad we have parks close that we can use to preserve our sanity when all else fails!

Blessed With Friends

What a fun pic!

These two are either gonna love or hate each other someday!

Today while I went to the doctor and for the sono Abby and Ashley took the kids to the zoo. How blessed am I to have such great friends? I can't imagine not having girls around that all have kids the same age...that understand the fits, attitudes, crying, whining and still say, "What's one more? Sure we'll take him!" I am happy that I am to a point and time in my life tht I have people I can always count on, immediately family excluded...I wasn't sure I would ever get there. Family is awesome but by obligation...friends are better. They don't have to care about you, take care of you or love you for who you are. Somehow there are still a few special friends that never fade away!

Sneak Peek

Last weekend while we were at the lake I had some minor bleeding and contractions...obviously nothing I was too concerned about but after my regular 23 week check up today my Dr. sent for a sono just to be sure. The sono looked fine, as far as I could tell. The tech was so sweet. She didn't have any other patients after me so she spent an entire hour doing my sono. She even did some 4D stuff just for fun! The 4D pics were by far way better than any we ever got with Logan including three different trips to Baby Waves. I think this little boy looks an awful lot like his brother!

Family Vacation 2011

If you have been missing us this week it's because we have been enjoying some much needed family time together on vacation at Table Rock Lake. The lake was extremely high, somewhat limiting our activities but we still had a good time. We went swimming, fishing(Logan's 1st time!) and best of all enjoyed tractor aka golf cart rides! As always though, it's good to be home.
