Clapping and Storms

It's stormy here today...
Logan spent some time on the front porch catching raindrops.
Gavin learned another new trick.
He now knows how to clap!

These boys are changing too fast.

Memorial Day 2012

Mommy had to work today but we spent the evening at Nana's for dinner.  Her boyfriend Steve's parents were in town from Texas and shared the holiday with us.  The cemetary outside of Benton was breathtaking this morning with all the large flags flying in a row.  Dinner was yummy, the company was good and the boys weren't too awful for being outside of the house after 6PM!  Btw, Nana bought Logan this new bubble gun WHICH HE LOVES!

5/27/12-Quick Update

I don't have pics today to share but there are some very exciting things going on around here that I thought were worthy of a post!  Logan made bubbles in the potty for the first time tonight.  Hoooorrraaaaay!  Gavin learned how to wave bye, bye today...so cute!

Hey, Hey!

Gavin is officially up and trying to walk.  He isn't letting go of things yet, I will keep you posted.  Logan is bright eyed and back to his normal self.  He has been sleeping through the night solidly again for the past 10 days and this Momma is sooooo happy about it!

I have been contemplating this potty training business as Logan seems to have very little interest.  I have been talking to that gal across the street that has 2 year old twins and she has invested in some cloth diapers and her boys are progressing nicely.  So I dropped some money of cloth and we are going to try it!  I figure even if I only do cloth while we are home and during the day it will save money also.

Naked would work better but I refuse to let a kid run around peeing on my brand new carpet.  These boys of mine, they will steal your heart and make you crazy at the same time...

Maclaskey Playdate

We hadn't seen the Maclaskey kids for awhile...life has been crazy!  But, tonight they came over to eat/play/hangout.  I do miss these two brown eyed, tanned-skinned head over heels for Gavin kiddos.  We had a great time playing outside on the swingset and in the water.  Bathtime was another highlight but Mommy was too busy for pictures.  Life is moving way too fast these days...

Cousin Playdate

My cousin Ethi has been living up near Cassoday, 6 months pregnant, BY HER SELF!  What a trooper.  Her hubby Travis works for a traveling construction crew so he's only home about one day a week.  Today we went up and kept Dane while she pulled a waitressing shift and we had an aboslute ball!!

Dane and Gavin are only 3 months apart and Logan loves all of Danes tractors!  So...it was a pretty even trade-off...you can play with my brother if I can play with you tractors.  Let's just say, they were fun to watch.  I am so excited that Ethi is due with a girl in late July.  We are gonna spoil the heck out of her!!!

Bath Babies

Gavin has been taking a bath in the "big boy tub" for the past month.  He's big enough now that I don't worry about him falling over and he LOVES taking a bath with Logan.  They are so cute to watch together.  It's amazing anyone gets washed as much fun as they have playing together!

Zoo Trip With Nana

Today we went to the zoo with Nana!
Uncle AJ was supposed to come too but had to head home early.
We met some of Mommy's cousins' kids and played hard with them.

We never tire of seeing all the animals and especially of being able to let the kids run.
We took a picnic lunch and absolutely enjoyed the company!

I love how much Gavin's personality is showing.  He is such a ham
But he also has such a sober, sincere side to him.
These two boys are so different, yet so much the same.
Everyday I wake up and wonder what our next adventure will be!

BBQ For A.J.

We had a BBQ out at my uncles house tonight for A.J.
As he was the guest of the party, he was difficult to secure for pics!
However, we did manage to catch the few above.
My boys do love their uncle.

My boys are also very fond of their Aunt Kate and her newest boyfriend, Tyler.  Gavin, for some reason, thinks he is quite funny and the life of the party!  I love that my children are happy and entertained when around him...not to mention that my sister adores him!  Best wishes to them both!  I will be praying that this is a match for life.

Sleepy

We have been having a nice little quiet weekend.  I had to work today and the boys had some good quality time together.  Last night Aunt Kate spent the night while the biggest boys were out fishing late.

This pic was the boys tonight just before bed.  The two littles ones' allergies have been acting up.  Logan has been waking up with eyes matted shut.  We are back to good 'ol Benadryl.  Both of them have puffy faces but seem to be in relatively tolerant moods so far.  Yay for springtime in KS!

Uncle A and Auntie K

While AJ and Kristin have been here we have been soaking them up!  They came by just to hang out for awhile this afternoon and love on the boys.  Too bad these two live so far away...their nephews sooooo love them!

Patriot Guard

This evening the patriot guard rode into our neighborhood to present AJ with a flag signed by a bunch of the grade school kids and just to shake his hand.  It was very heartwarming.  Logan loved watching all their motorcycles parade down the street.

What a cool way to show their support for our service people that have been deployed!  The boys love when we have company of any kind and family definitely tops the list.

Simple Joys

My boys LOVE water.  Anytime they can get into water, any place they can find it...they are game!  I love how they both squeal and laugh.  If only we never had to get out of the tub or turn the hose off, life would be great.

Cuddles

Ok, so Mommy looks a bit possessed in this pic...nevermind.  This teething boy has been super cranky and cuddly here lately.  He has begun biting during nursing.  He went on a ten hour nursing strike one day this weekend.  We have been hanging in there and feeling sad for him!  He has spent a TON of time in the slings and Moby wrap.

Afternoon Recap

This is what happens when you have a nap...
You get to be active and happy and enjoyable!
This is what happens when you refuse to lay down for a nap...
You are a grade A crank machine and fall asleep in front of the movie at 5pm!

Surprise! Look Who's Home...

Uncle AJ surprised us this a.m. by showing up before church!  I went over for breakfast as usual and he and Kristin were just walking in the back door.  They were scheduled to be here on Tuesday but Kristin got Monday off and they drove in early!  We will be spending time lovin' on them this week.

Mother's Day Celebration

We went out to my uncles to celebrate mothers day a bit early.  Gavin had such a good time with Great Grandpa Marvin.  Logan had fun lovin' on Miss Sophie and letting her chase him around...not to mention the chocolate cake!

Gavin {7Months}

Dear Sweet Gavin,
At 7 months your newest trick is pulling up and starting to toddle around big stationery objects.  I have no idea how much you weigh, you have been so healthy I have had no reason to take you to the doctor!  You go to bed about 9 and sleep til 1a.m. then get up and eat. You go back to sleep til about 3, eat again then we are up at 6!  You go back to bed so easily though I am not going to complain at all!
You nurse(or have a bottle at daycare) about every 3 hours during the day.  You are eating rice and fruit twice a day and veggies twice a day also.  We skipped stage one foods and went straight to stage 2.  You eat whatever you can reach off of our plates too. Puffs and yogimelts are favorite snacks but only as long as real food is out of view!  Your two  middle bottom teeth are still all you have.
You are still a happy, bubbly and(thankfully) very patient baby.  I love watching you grow and do so many new things.  It's gonna be a busy next few months!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
