PT Begins

I started physical therapy today.  Really I started my 20min drive to pay $30 a visit for electrical stimulation.  I am really thrilled about it.  In all honesty, my therapist was great.  But the Dr. isn't allowing me to really do anything until my appt. next week.  So I asked for PT to be put on hold til then.  What a slow process!  The kids are doing good.  I don't have much to post, can't get to the camera in time for cute pics.  But our vibes at home are good and we are just waiting it out!

Injured Mommy

Tuesday I decided to get my leg checked out.  I worked to 9 hr shifts Monday and Tuesday and my left leg was swollen at least twice the size of the right.  The PA I saw sent me for an MRI, then to an ortho.  I tore 2 muscles in my leg/thigh.  Ugh...seriously?  I knew it hurt but TORN?  There is a large hematoma under my torn quad and both muscles tore in the middle of the muscles, not from the joints so surgery is not an option to speed healing.  Looks like Mommy will be off work for at least 6 weeks.  I can't even start PT for at least 2-3 weeks.  Anyone that knows me, knows that I am already going insane.  I am trying to keep things as upbeat and normal for everyone but I am down right beat.

2,4,5 &6

Well it was birthday party day today and where better to have the party than at the pumpkin patch? Steve was in a world of hurt since he fell Friday with the kids in the backyard(holding Kate), trying to escape our neighbors mean dog and cracked two ribs.  Right after we got to the pumpkin patch, Gavin sprinted to the gate. I took off after him and immediately felt something pop in my leg just as he was within my reach.  I thought I was going to pass out. But since I couldn't visually see anything wrong, I was back to the truck to get some ibuprofen and committed to ignoring the pain the rest of the day.

The kids had such a good time.  Grayson celebrated his birthday with us as normal but because he had so many friends there, we hardly saw him!  Walter's was as fun as ever.  We spent 4 hours there and didn't even make it to the patch.  I think this place grows every year.

The kids got too many gifts to mention and I didn't even waste the blog space with present pics.  My kids were just so blessed to have everyone's presence. We finished the day on the horsey tire swings and teter totters.  The Cryderman's stuck out the whole afternoon with us.

It's so hard to believe I have a 2, 4 & 6 year old.  Where has the time gone???

Homemade Superheroes

Forgive the blurriness but these superheroes are just to fast to catch on my phone camera! We have probably 15-20 various superhero costumes in our costume box.  Those weren't good enough for this troublesome trio tonight.  We had to cut up old socks and empty mom's kitchen towel drawer to make suitable costumes.  I think you can tell from their faces that they were all in rare form.  I love these little super stars!

Sleepy Evening

I was trying to run some energy out of these kiddos this evening and get some fresh air and I think it worked! They were super snoozy and sleepy on the swings.  I love when they are sweet and tender like this.  Logan was feel photogenic.

State Fair 2015

This was a super busy social weekend for me!  Steve and I bought tickets to see Sam Hunt at the state fair so that was our date night last night. Papa and Lisa came to stay with the kids for the evening and I think it is safe to say they had a great time!  The concert was so freakin awesome!  Old Dominion opened for him and we are now huge fans of theirs too.  We had to leave early because at 1030 they were STILL playing and we all had to work the next day.  This was my first time to ever attend the state fair.  Honestly, aside for the concert I wasn't super impressed.  But the grandstand was cool and I would definitely go back to see other concerts there.

Ronald McDonald House Charities-"Kickin' It For the Kids" Kickball Tourney

So my sister is a member of the Red Shoe Society and for the past 3 years has helped to organize and pull off this awesome kickball tournament for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  For those that don't know, RMHC helps to provide inexpensive, near to the hospital lodging for parents and families of hospitalized peds patients, many of those being the NICU families I work with other day.  They also have a family room at this hospital where families can go to eat, unwind, play a game, wash their laundry and whatever they may need while their child is hospitalized.

Last year, I brought up the fact that Wesley didn't have a team in this tournament and has the baby(and now soon to be Peds) hospital, shouldn't we participate in such a great event?  Well that promptly landed my rear end on the starting line up for our team!  I was terrified that I wouldn't do well and aside from missing one ball I proved myself wrong.  I had credit for several of our RBIs and I had a fun time getting to know some of the senior management closer and playing with some great nurse and doctors.

Mom and Don brought the kids over to cheer us and they were so cute.  They had even made little signs for myself and for Uncle Tyler.  The best part was, the day raised over $40,000 for RMHC and the families they benefit!  Keep rocking this sister, I can't wait to see how great it will be next year!

Happy Birthday Katelyn {2 yrs}

Kate,
  You can't be two already!!! Stop growing little princess...time is flying by.  I love your smart, inquisitive nature.  You are working on potty training already, sleep through the night well and love your babies.  You line up your dollies and nurse or spoon feed them.  Dolly diaper changing is one of your most favorite games.  You out do your peers at the shapes shuffle game and seem to have some very ingenious ways of thinking.  Your daycare providers tell me how sweet you are to the younger kids and how well you mimic the fun behaviors of the older children.  You vocabulary is exploding since we have been using the "stinky-binky" less and I love listening to you talk and sing.  I think we are going to have our hands full with you later and there is never a dull moment.  You make our hearts full as well.  I am so blessed to have your sweet little self in my life. Happy birthday!
Love,
Mommy

Happy Birthday Logan {6yrs}

Since our appointment for yearly pics isn't for another month I though I would honor the kids with birth pics this year...

Logan,
  I can't believe it has really been six years since I first held your sweet face in my arms.  My how you have grown.  You are becoming such a well-mannered, bright, young man.  Everyday your teacher lets me know with your color for the day that you are either a "Great" or "Unbelievable" pupil.  I watch how kind you are to those around you, including your siblings and it makes my heart swell with love and pride.  You are smart and witty.  You make us laugh often.  Keep on being you and never let anyone else determine your worth.  I love you Logie. Happy Birthday!
Love,
Mom

This girl was all smiles this a.m.  It is difficult to catch her with her true dimply smile out but not today!  We are having a rare stay home day as daycare of closed for Labor Day and it is my holiday off.

Miss Sherry's House

One of my lovely co-workers has a heart for kids.  Since her hubby was gone hunting this weekend, she invited the kids out to see her new animals.  My kids love Sherry and they love her farm.  We played with animals, fed the horses, picked the garden, "drove" her tractor and checked out her garden spider "Charlotte."  Thanks Sherry for helping me wear them out today!

Star Student of the Week

Each week, Logan's class has a "Star-Student" usually associated with their birthday.  This week was Logan's week and his class bear "Hollywood" got to spend the weekend at our house.  Part of Logan's assignment was to keep a diary of our activities and to take pics of himself with Hollywood.

The entire family got in on the fun.  I think Hollywood enjoyed himself too!

Besties

The mommies felt the need to gather for some fellowship and conversation tonight.  Steve kept us entertained and the kids had fun dressing up.  Abby says that everyday is Halloween at our house.  It used to drive Steve crazy but these clearance and leftover Halloween costumes have provided countless hours of entertainment.

I am so blessed to have a couple of besties that just "get it."  We are all full-time, working mommies just trying to do what is right for our families.  Rock on girls, we love you!

Gavin {1st day of "School"}

Daddy sent me this picture this morning.  Due to some mild social delays Gavin is being evaluated in a classroom Pre-K setting at Logan's school.  He was so excited to go.  I had to go into work early so dad was in charge of getting the kids around...socks and sandals. Gotta love the outfit choice!  Do well little man!
