July 31, 2011- Can you believe it?

It's almost August....thank the Lord! We had a fun day today. We had breakfast with Papa this morning. My friends got together at the park and we had a nice little play date with the kiddos complete with a diaper and wipes shower for the baby! Our kids love the splash park and we will take any good excuse to get together.

The pics above were taken this afternoon. The nice little kitty is NOT ours but he sort of belongs to the neighborhood. Every now and then we let him in to entertain Logan when it is too hot to sit outside and watch them play. Too bad cats=litter boxes. If it wasn't for that and their claws I might consider having one. I don't really believe in declawing a cat that goes outside and we just have way to many nice wooden things in our house. It's kind of fun to let him in as a guest and at the same time not have to worry about him.

SO at 4:15a.m. today I woke up with the most awful charlie horses up the back of both legs. I writhed around in the bed but they didn't seem to get better. I decided to stand up and stretch. I put my legs on the floor, hopped out of bed and fell flat on my butt! My legs refused to work. Steve who had been dead asleep until this point jumped out of bed and came around to find me on the floor. If I wasn't pregnant he probably would have thought I was drunk.

I was laughing and crying at the same time. It scared me so bad I had peed my pants(not what you really want to admit!). It took a few minutes for them to go away and for me to regain enough composure to talk. Of course then Steve was saying, "Shhhhush. Be quiet, you are gonna wake Logan up!" It wasn't the first thing on my mind...to say the least.

So it will definitely be one of those things I will be writing in the baby book...not something I will forget for a VERY long time!

These Posts

Pictures can be very deceiving...we have been up at 4a.m. the past two days. Of course they would be days I work as well. Logan and Steve have kept me up all night the past three days...one of them gets back to sleep then I have to get up a pee. Eventually I am going to crash!

Speaking of crash, Steve got in a wreck on the way home from work yesterday. Yes he's fine, and no one was hurt. I know it was entirely his fault but I am really pissed right now. I am sick of wrecks! I am sick of having cars in the repair shop an paying insurance deductibles. I hate these kinds of posts when I don't have much nice to say. I guess it will be funny later for Logan to look back and see that his mommy had her bad days too. I really don't think the lack of sleep is improving my outlook on life at the moment. Everything is just easier t cope with when you ar rested.

On a good note, my cervical sonos have been good. No significant change in cervical length. Baby boy is staying put for now!

Look what the big boy can do!

Logan has really been trying to get his tennis shoes on by himself...this morning he did it! He was so happy with himself. I was upstairs getting dressed and I hear, "Mommy, Mommy Mommy!" I looked down the stairs to see him sitting on the landing with his shoe proudly but securely on the worng foot. I couldn't help but giggle as I praised him for what a big boy he was...

Easy Like Sunday Morning

My big test to get my IBCLC certification is tomorrow...I won't find out until the end of October if I passed! Nana kept Logan last night so I could study. This morning Steve and I went over and had biscuits and gravy with Kate and Papa. After church Nana brought Logan home just in time for the jam session! We picked squash out of the garden and visited with Dane and Sofi this afternoon. It was a nice, easy Sunday. We need more days like this!

More Summer, Cousin Fun

Cousin Sofi came to play today and if you can't tell from the pictures, these two are quite a pair! Their little personalities are almost completely opposite and it was really fun to watch them interact. Logan thinks he knows everything and Sofi wants to learn and pick up on everything...I'm sure you can imagine all the fun things she learned today! Logan does just absolutely adore her dark curly hair and brown eyes though.

Payton and Gray came over to say hi and eat lunch with us which gave Mommy a much needed hour of adult interaction. Thank God for best friends!

Introducing...Dane Phillip Edwards

Today we got to go love on the newest addition to the family. Dane was born to my cousin Ethanni last Friday early, early in the a.m. Cousin Sofi was there visiting as well so we got to play and spend time with her. There were kittens and baby goats to love on...not to mention the new baby! Mommy had lots of fun taking pics of the precious little man. Can't wait until our new little one is here!

Howell Family Camping 2011

Great Grandma Howell

Logan and third cousin Addison

Beach Boy

We just got back from the lake and we had a great, HOT time. Plenty of sand, water and sun for everyone. No, I wasn't out in the heat completely. One of the nice girls that I work with let us borrow her camper complete with air conditioning. We saw lots of family, enjoyed cousins, spent time throwing fits(Logan that it) and played until we were so exhausted we couldn't move!

Date Night

Abby and I can't seem to get a day off together so tonight we had a date night with the kids. We ate spaghetti, played in the water, had popsicles then let the kids swim in the bath tub! Such little characters...

Logan was in a mood but I wasn't surprised. We had to stop and get a routine vaccination for him on the way home so I figured he'd be a mess by 8p.m.

I saw an OB/GYN dr. today. I will have weekly sonos to measure my cervical length and ensure I am not dilating despite all the contractions. We will be chilling and taking it easy for awhile at our house!

July 4th, 2011

Our 4th of July was spent mostly indoors staying cool and recovering from Sunday. We did have a nice little block party in the evening though full of lots of fun neighbors, a few good friends and some great fireworks. Logan lasted until shortly after 10 and then slept through the rest of the noise without any problems!

Cuddles

Mommy received some much needed cuddle time this evening!

Darn Allergies!

I wish I had some more nice boring pics to post! Today has been everything but that. I woke up about 5 this a.m. with tummy troubles. While sitting in the bathroom I went into a severe allergic episode including wheezing and sneezing(my norm), severe swelling to the right side of my face and hands and hives and rash all over my arms and legs.

I took my inhaler and 50mg of benadryl fully expecting the symptoms to subside. After an hour, they had not. My breathing was improved but my eye was almost swollen shut and I could not bend my fingers due to the swelling. The rash remained and contractions were starting. While I mumbled some not very nice things under my breath I called Papa to come sit with the boys. By this time it was about 6:15.

Steve drove me to the hospital here in town where they wasted no time. I had oxygen, an IV, fluids, steriods, more IV Benadryl and some other things as well. About 7:30 things finally started getting better. They kept me in ER until about 8:30 then sent me up to OB because my contractions were about every 3 min.

I was on the monitor for about two hours, got a cervical exam and then the contractions slowed down enough they felt comfortable releasing me. I have a feeling that I am going to end up with an OB doctor even yet with this pregnancy. I really enjoy my family practice doctor and love that she can care for both baby and me in the hospital. But, I am starting to get really comfy with the fact that this baby is deciding a very different plan.

I have no idea what set me off this morning. It was really odd that all the swelling was on the right side of my body. I have had issues like I said with that bathroom before but never like this! I guess I will avoid it at all costs for the remainder of the pregnancy. I will finish a steroid therapy this week by mouth. The OB that saw me here strongly advised against the progesterone so I am off it until Wednesday at least when I see the doctor again.

Logan went to spend some time with Nana this afternoon while I rest.

Whatever happened to nice boring pregnancies?

Celebrate!

Tonight we went out to Uncle Marks for some early 4th of July fun. Logan had a great time as evidenced by the above pictures but was thoroughly exhausted by 9:45 P.M. I worked 12 hours today then went out so I was quite ready for home as well. Now, if the jerks in this neighborhood will just quit shooting fireworks at a decent time tonight so we can all get some sleep all will be well!
