What a week

Last week was my first week back to work.  I worked Mon, Tues, Weds and Sat mixed in with all the holiday gatherings.  Then this week I worked Mon and Tues spent today at home cuddling and loving on my two little ones.  Tonight we decorated the Christmas tree and packed for our trip.  Steve, Gavin and I are going to Washington D.C. tomorrow for a work conference that I have.  Logan is staying with Nana.  It should be an experience.  Don't plan on hearing much from us until we get home on Sunday!

Thanksgiving 2011 {Part 4-Taylors}

Today we went to Haven for the last of our Thanksgiving get togethers with Steve's family.  As always there was no shortage of people wanting to hold the baby.  Logan was having so much fun playing with Mayzie that I didn't even get a picture of the two of them!  Mason is getting so big.  Star of the show...Jerri's turkey breast.  It was so good!

Thanksgiving 2011 {Part 3-On the Farm}

Today we went to Aunt Helen and Uncle Toms.  Logan and Gavin were the ONLY little ones there!  Quite a change from the norm.  The boys had fun shooting guns and ruding the go cart.  I got my rear end handed to me by the great aunts in two games of scrabble.  Star of the show...the cute little turkey cookies pictured above but only for looks only of course.  Aunt Helens turkey/rice soup was a show stealer as always.

Thanksgiving 2011 {Part 2-Dad's}

Thanksgiving get together #2 of the weekend's star of the show was pumpkin roll!  Lots of snuggle time with Aunt Kate and the boys kept us entertained with guitars.  Our non-traditional dinner feast included chicken fajitas and queso dip!

Thanksgiving 2011 {Part 1-Newmans}

This was our first of several get togethers for Thanksgiving.  Star of the feast...DUMPLINGS!

Just Here

 Poor kid sleeps like his dad!
 Little Angel
Being silly with dads glasses

Steve had to work yesterday and we didn't do much of anything.  We hung out at the house all weekend.  I had about 10 loads of laundry to catch up on.  Of course I have had to spend at least 2 hours each day organizing and trying to figure out how this is all gonna work...getting up and ready for work, nurse Gavin and pump then get Logan out the door all by 6.  Thankfully I won't add taking Christopher to moms before leaving town until next week.  Let's work back into this routine!

Boys At Play

On Friday we had a playdate with a friend of mine from work and her kiddos. Her oldest is 2 and a half and got along great with Logan.  Her youngest was born the day after Gavin.  The older boys had a great time playing and it was nice to have some adult conversation!  I don't know how I managed not to get a pic of little missy as she is soooo adorable!

Family Pictures {2011}

Here are the pics from our family shoot yesterdat.  We spent maybe 20 minutes shooting and I don't think she deleted one pic!  We took about 5pics and they were all great the first shot.  Logan was an absolute ham.

Christophers school pics always turn out crappy so the past 2 years we have done individuals of him when we have a family shoot done.  He is getting to be such a grown up young man!

I Love You...

I thought Logan was never going to vocalize "I love you."  Then he started saying in it when we asked him to repeat it.  Just lately he has really begun to understand the concept and say it on his own.  It is so adorable and melts my heart.

This morning he came downstairs after he got up and very first thing went up to Gavin who was laying on the boppy.  He laid his head down next to him and said, "Mommy, I love him."

When we picked him up from the sitters this afternoon I already had Gavin and Christopher in the truck.  As I was buckling him into his seat he told Christopher, "Bubba, I love you."

What more could a Mommy ask for than these lovable little guys?

Unplanned

 Remember this little doggie?
 These happy faces have been kinda rare this week.
Gavin has been very fussy and has been doing a bunch of swinging!

Nana is in San Fransisco this week. Colby had gone to stay with Aunt Kate when I went on bedrest. But he and the cat weren't getting along and Nana decided she needed a watch dog so he has been with Nana the past two weeks. With her leaving town he returned to us. Poor dog, bless his heart is just as versatile as can be. Thank goodness he is so well behaved.
Well, where to start...this week hasn't really gone as planned.  Such is life, right?  On Monday we were supposed to go get our pics taken with Payton and Grayson but our friends were sick. :( Tuesday we DID go to the chiropractor as planned.  Today I decided to call my stylist and see if she could cut my hair while I was in Wichita and she unexpectedly could!

I didn't want to save all my control freak instructions for the sitter for 6 a.m. Monday morning so when I dropped Logan off this a.m. I stayed for a couple of hours.  I gave my instructions(which made me feel better), took all the supplies in and Jess got to spend a little time getting to know Gavin(which I am sure made her feel better!).  I got my hair cut...ran and picked out a shirt for Steve for pics tomorrow and then met my friends for lunch.  Gavin was a trooper.

Nights are still very bad for us.  I am still battling oversupply issues with my breastmilk which I think is a big part of our nighttime hell.  Gavin doesn't eat more that 2-3 oz at a time.  When there is always 4-6 oz available it is difficult for a small time eater to get to the good milk, called the hind milk.  If he gets a bottle(which has hind and foremilk in it) he does fine and will sleep 4 hours easy.  He also does well if I pump after each feeding so I am not overly full.  Since I don't want to pump at night...well you get the picture I am sure.  I am hoping that as he starts eating more and as I am away from his several days a week returning to work that his needs and my supply will balance out a bit.  We can only pray!  We had some of the same problems with Logan and it all worked out.  Thank goodness that I know it does get better.

So tomorrow is Gavin and I's last day home by ourselves as Logan is going to daycare.  Then we have family pics in the afternoon.  We moved our playdate with the Mesplays to Friday because their week has been crazy too and they ended up having family in town.  Their little boy is 2 1/2 and they little girl was born the day after Gavin.  How fun to have kids so close in age!

More pics to come soon.  I hope we have some to share after our family session tomorrow.

Look Who's Talking

Forgive me for not keeping Gav's head centered in the video...the lcd display on the camera wasn't working and I was focused on making faces at him!  He's really starting to talk and make all sorts of noises.  Last night he was giggling at us...ok maybe he was giggling at himself in his half awake state but it was still too cute!

One Week Left...Lets Make It Great!

 Happy boy
 Lovin on my brother
 Enjoying the nice weather and playing in the sand
Look how big I am getting!

Today marks one week until I go back to work and this is going to be a VERY busy week.  It seems we have plans just about every single day!  There will be lots to share about including sharing the infamous annual Christmas pic with the Maclaskey kids in Christmas jammies.  That's on the agenda for tomorrow.  Tuesday we have chiropractor appts, Weds I'm meeting a friend for lunch, Thurs we are taking family pics, then a playdate with the Mesplays on Fri.  I literally had to put everything in my calendar because I kept getting confused about who was doing what, when!

Another 1st

Gavin and Logan spent the night with Nana last night while Steve and I went on our first date in over a year.  They made mini pizzas and watched lots of Thomas the Train from what Nana said!  It was Gavin's first night away from me and I slept so well that I slept right through the alarm I had set to get up and pump.  We went to On the Border and had a nice dinner complete with margaritas.  Then we came home and watched "Water For Elephants."  Great movie!  Thanks Nana for giving us a much needed night to ourselves.  Hope you get caught back up on your sleep!

Friendly Fun

One of my good friends from High School was in town today so we rounded everyone up and had a little friends party.  The kids were awesome!  We ate lunch, played with Thomas the Train tracks, jumped on the jumpy house and even made Xmas ornaments.  We were pushing nap time we were having to much fun!  It's so neat to watch our kids grow and play together.
