Nicer Days

We had a nicer day today and I decided to let boys out to play in the mud and water.  That's what boys do best, right?  Logan was having way to much fun splashing through the puddles and busting up the ice.  Of course Gavin plays monkey see, monkey do very well and was right behind him.  The picture at the fence is Logan talking to our older neighbor that the boys have become very fond of.  I didn't attach a picture of the mess I had to clean afterwards...good things floors clean easy!

Crazy KS Winter

Well there was another major winter storm forcasted for our area moving in on Monday so I decided to load up the boys and stay with Nana to make it easier to get back and forth to work.  I figured if it was bad enough Nana would be staying home and I am glad we did so!

The boys got to spend a couple days with Nana and Mommy didn't have such a stressful drive to and from work.  We missed Daddy but I think it was worth it.  Worst part....I left my camera at home so I don't have any pics!  We ended up getting about another 6-8 inches of snow to add to the previous 10-14.  Yeehaw!  Welcome to Kansas...

Granola Boys

Since I switched to lactation and started cloth diapering I have been called a "granola girl" by some of my former coworkers from NICU.  While I don't feel the label is exactly representative of the true me, it describes my boys entirely...REAL granola boys that is!  They do love their granola bars.  Here they are having a quiet moment at 6:00 A.M. before I left for work this a.m.  Notice they aren't wearing cloth diapers(disposable is so much easier at night and at 2 diapers a day it fits in the budget nicely)!

From 60 and Sunny...to 10 inches of Snow!

Well, there went our nice weather!   We had a winter storm move in yesterday and overnight that dropped almost 10 inches of snow and also included a thunderstorm...weird.  They are calling it "Thundersnow."  Anyhow, I had a great deal to do today so we sent Gavin to daycare and Logan stayed home and played Mommy's helper.  Then we had fun this afternoon building a snowman.  Logan can't get enough of the snow. After I was done and Daddy had been out with him for over an hour, we made him take a break before he went back out to play with Lisa.  The top picture is their snowman.  It's back to work tomorrow so I am praying they have all the roads cleared!

Come On Spring!

I think it is safe to say we are going a little stir crazy in this house!  I finally let the boys go to Walmart with me for the first time since November on Saturday.  All of our friends have been so sick this winter with RSV, Influenza A & B, Rotavirus and Pneumonia and that we have stayed home to try and avoid it all.

But...not today!  Today was gorgeous, 65 and sunny...and we went to the park!  We fed the ducks and played on the swings.  Last summer Logan was scared to even climb up on the big equipment by himself and now he sprints up it and takes off down the slide like it's nothing!

On a funny note, I was chasing Gavin around on the big kid equipment and all of a sudden Steve said he didn't see Logan.  Any guesses on where he was?  If  you guessed half way across the park with his pants down watering the grass...you were right.  OMG!  Yes it was that moment where I really wanted to go stick my head in the sand.  Especially since I was visiting with an old college classmate that was just telling me how cute and well mannered my little men were...if she only knew!

So I am going to keep on praying for more of these warm, sunny days to get us through until the real Spring gets here.  Half the state is under a winter weather advisory tonight.

Messy, Mess

It isn't awful in this picture but let me tell you...this boy knows how to make a mess!  However, since he eats most of his food(or anyone else's that happen to get within his reach) I can't complain too much.  He is so different from Logan who hates to have a single speck of food on his face or out of place on his hand.  It really cracks me up.  I am trying to imagine what the third will bring!

VDay Fun

Nana bought the boys these fun bath/soap paints.  This picture was only after the first out of 3 colors!  The water was brown by the time they were done.  It was all SO fun until time to rinse.  I think they must not have been tear-free as Gavin SCREAMED...of course it could have been the whole load of soap that ended up in his mouth too.  I guess I know what I am going to use if we start having potty mouths around here!
