I had my 37 week check-up today. The baby was not cooperating in the office and the Dr. had a difficult time getting good heart tones. SO, that meant a trip to the hospital and a non-stress test to reassure everyone that baby was doing fine.
It's been a difficult week...we lost our beloved chessie Rupert Monday evening and things have just been kinda off ever since then. Hopefully things will get better because it's back to work tomorrow for the whole weekend for me!

Baby Shower For Work
Wonderful gifts
Well, last night was the shower that Vick, Diana and Cindy from work planned for me. I was excited and couldn't wait to go but it was more than I had even imagined. The food was excellent, the company was great(of course) but the girls really out did it with the gifts. Just to name a few I received: bath supplies, clothes, toys, a jumper, hand made blankets and quilts, books, things for the car, an extra car seat base, a pack 'n' play, a monitor, a breast pump with supplies and some very nice gift certificates as well.
I always knew that I had a great group of co-workers but I didn't even know what to say by the time I got done opening gifts. "Thank you" seems insufficient given the magnitude of their generosity. Let's just say that this child is not going to be wanting for anything for a VERY long time! Thanks girls for a fantastic evening and a wonderful shower.

36 weeks
Not much news to share. Had another Dr. appt. today and everything was great. It's gonna be another busy weekend. The girls at work are throwing me a shower on Saturday and I have couple of other things to get done. I'll post pics later!

35 weeks and counting!

Hope you enjoy the pics...it was kind of a weird photo session. Amazingly, not one of the face shots with Steve and I turned out well at all. Either he wasn't smiling or I was being a dork. The belly and hand photos were neat though!
I went to the doctor on Thursday. Measurements and wt are right on target. She checked me for the first time. That was an experience. I'm dilated to 1 and 20% effaced, baby is head down. I didn't figure I would have started to dilate at all yet and was expecting her to tell me my cervix was closed and thick! This weekend of work is really wearing me out. I don't know if I'll make it through another one.

August 8th, 2009- Baby Shower
Ethanni that awesome hostess, check out the adorable cookies
My awesome cousin Ethanni planned this shower with the help of my Grandma Dixie, sister, Aunt Dee Dee, Aunt Lisa and her two girls and my cousins girlfriend Kaydee. Thank you to all the girls, it was a blast! It was so much fun to see everyone. I wish I would have had more time to talk to each person who was there one on one but there were just to many!

I'm hoping that during maternity leave I can spend some time with some of these special people. Of course with the baby being small during the holidays it will be the perfect time to get together with everyone. All these pictures were taken on our new camera. I have been wanting one for quite some time and we finally broke down and bought it so we'd have it for when the baby is born. It's awesome!
Needless to say I have plenty to do still this afternoon to keep me busy. Steve just got home from arguing with the idiots at Walmart...I think he is needing some personal attention. Gotta run!

34 Week Check-up
We had another Dr. appt yesterday. All is well. My blood pressure to back down to baseline. My measurements were right on. The Dr. gave me the official report of a repeat sono we had done shortly after my last appt. The radiologist had recommended yet another repeat sono to look at baby's measurements because they had a difficult time measuring the femurs during the previous sono.
Everything looked fine! So hopefully no more sonos and we're on the downhill slide. As promised, here's a picture of the painting Steve did to match my nursery bedding. He's so darn talented. My bag and baby's bag for the hospital is packed and ready to go. Steve seems to think I'm going to go into labor early and has been on me to pack a bag since about 28 weeks. Well, I finally did. We're getting close. Less than six weeks t0 go before we get to meet this little man.
My shower is on Saturday. Can't wait to see everyone and have some fun!
