Well, well where to begin? I have not been very good about keeping up with my posts the past couple of days. On Friday 10/21/11 Gavin went to the doctor for a check up. He was up to 7 pounds 7.5 ounces and has grown an inch and a half since birth already making him 20.5 inches. He is now being started on zantac for reflux. Last week he began spitting after he ate, got extremely fussy and arches and screams the whole time he eats. Not fun. We will see if the Zantac helps.
Saturday night Aunt Kristin came into town for a short visit and got to meet Gavin. She held and cuddled him and even gave him a bath! Way to go go Aunt Krisitin, It was great to see her...just wish Uncle AJ could see Gavin while he is little too.
Sunday a.m. we had breakfast with Papa, Aunt Kate came to town and we spent a bit more time with Aunt Kristin before she left to head home.
Today, Logan had his 2 year well child check. He was SO well behaved. He did everything the doctor asked, no holding him down for exam. He showed off his vocabulary and named all the objects she asked him too. Surprise, surprise, he is a little(OK quite a bit) ahead of other kids his age for speech skills and vocab. He has also had a growth spurt. He is now 30pounds(70th percentile) and 34 3/4 inches long(45th percentile). Head circumference is still >95th percentile but growing accordingly. He even got his flu shot and there were exactly 2 tear drops shed. Then he hopped off the table like a big boy and proudly walked right out of that office. Nevermind that the minute we exited the clinic our behavior started becoming a bit more typical...
Breastfeeding this time around has been so much easier than with Logan. Gavin is a fantastic nurser. Even still it has had its ups and downs. I have been on antibiotics since Friday for a spot on my right breast that doesn't want to heal. After all weekend on antibiotics we are still not healing. So, I am off to call the doctor again! Hopefully Mommy will get a nap in this afternoon.
Hope your better soon. So glad the boys are doing so well.
